CoH laggy lag.

Is anyone else experiencing a lot of lag?
I spend most of my time on Justice (was the only place I could get the name I wanted) and the load is usually in the green.
But still with the lag.
Running cable modem and don't get a lot of lag in anything else. Is there anything I can do on my end?

The only time I get lag is around ms liberty and and in perez park. Basically any time there is a ton of player characters running around. Have you tried lowering graphics settings such as particle numbers etc.? I notice that CoH defaults to much higher res and graphic detail than I would expect for my TI4200.

I don''t have lag issues, but the thing crashes on me at least once a night.

Played for 8 hours straight last nite, no lag or crashing. You are going to get lag in the newbie starter zones of course so I don''t count that.
Can''t say I have a problem with lag. A few stutters when there''s tons of players on the screen, but not really a problem.
Does it take anyone a really long time to transition from one place to another, i.e. entering or leaving a warehouse or zone?
I was playing with a group last night. Cleared out a couple of warehouses. Hadn''t played in a large group before. First time I was part of an actual battle. Very nice. The engine was obviously built to handle that kind of thing.
Didn''t see much lag during it. Saw a little at a very inopportune time, but what the hell.
But, entering or leaving the warehouse took me much longer than anyone else. I''d get, ""Are you coming?"" ""Where are you?"" messages when I entered the building the same time everyone else did.
Zone loading time issues anyone?

No loading issues for me..but I did have a nasty problem of losing connection to the map server...like constantly, everytime I took two steps. Fortunately, upgrading graphics drivers and reinstalling dx seems to have fixed that problem

Mr Swarvey, is your HD thrashing around when you go from zone to zone?? If so I would suggest a disk defragment. Also if it is not your HD try to see how your memory load is during the game.. might be that you do not have enough memory (Never believe the recommended or minimal memory requirements for these MMORPG games they lie lie lie). That is usually what effects load times if it is not your pipe (bandwidth).

What are your system specs Mr.Swarvey? What you describe can look like lag but may be performance issues.

I bet $10 none of you are getting any lag at all. What you most likely are experience are issues with the client and database.

I had that problem in beta, updated the video drivers and the game became rock solid, not one crash afterwards.

I thought about that- updated my video drivers and crashed three times in succession. However, since then, things have gradually been getting better.

Some drivers like you to uninstall the old ones first most folks don''t bother to do that (and some times doing so creates it''s own setup of issues)... could by why things did not improve that much, but things getting steadily better are suggestive something more subtle
