That really weird feeling
It might be considered pimping, but the truth is, this is the only place online where I can imagine myself sharing that completely insane excitement that torns me.
The thing is: first relatively serious commercial game title I have contributed to, has finally be released!!! ![]()
Dark Horizons: Lore is indy project, made by completely crazy mecha fans and just released by GarageGames.
http://www.darkhorizons-lore.com/welcome.php?44.255
For those around here who have released titles under the belt, its no biggie, I guess, but I`m all dizzy. Concept artists get raped on every corner in indy world, as its extremely hard to tell who is doer and who simply talks big. You have to deliver concepts, but soon you find out that not a line of code has been written and your concepts are worthless.
Working with MGT guys was completely different, they had invested both money and time in Lore already and were willing to finish the thing, not breaking in the middle, although they had to adjust their ideas time to time in order to fit indy resources.
Damn, I guess I just wanted to say that I`m happy ![]()

Hey, it must be popular, because it''s blocked by websense here at work! Congrats!

Congratulations Most! With the huge effort it takes to get a game finished and published, that must be a great feeling.

Well done sir, congrats !

Man, you could have told us earlier! And by ''could'' I mean'' should''. It''s not like some of us aren''t trying to cover products like those that are driven by the Torque engine and will be published by Garage Games.
Hehe, thank you guys. Just for the record, dizziness fades out after a while and is replaced by stone cold shock about those thousand things yet ot be done. Guess its natural balance to prevent too much happy people around.
Spunior, well, I think I have some ""do not pimp in places you come for spiritual eneregy"" complex or something
But I promise to keep you posted about one other interesting project - very energetic online FPS sports title. It just has to pass the placeholder art phase, right now its fully functioning ""blue cubes vs green cubes""

Hmmmm... I remember trying this a while and being confused... I love mech''s... they''re wonderful, so I guess I''ll have to try and give this another shot after I get done with classes today.

I haven't had the chance to play this, yet DH:Lore has just been added to Gametap. It looks interesting, to say the least. 'Looking forward to playing...

Congrats! I think I played that game once too.
Woah, an old April, 2004 thread.
Yeah, it's scary. I'm staring into the abyss right now, and it's staring into me, which I think is kind of a dick move on the abyss's part. - Nyles

Well, a search for DH:Lore turned up this as the first relevant post (rare for this site), so I thought (even more rare) "why start a new thread?"
Browser history? Anything > 30 days gets banished to the forgotten site world.

Intentional necromancy is by far the worst kind.
Poor form, if you ask me.
