Xbox Price Drop Rumours
Sunday, March 14th, 2004 - 11:18am
Just a heads-up for those who plan to purchase an Xbox in the near future. Gamefront notes that an upcoming Wal-Mart flyer (hit reload if it doesn't work) hints at a price drop down to $150 soon. They didn't forget to mention that Wal-Mart flyers also (correctly) indicated Xbox and GC price drops in the past years.
EDIT: And they also mentioned ths 'shiny' Silent Hill 4 trailer. Hmmmyummy.

Yeah I heard it''s pretty much a sure thing.
I''ve been telling people to wait....

There's nothing else on earth that entwines art and science so closely.
Looks like it''s almost time for another ""Why should I buy an XBox?"" thread...

Because it''s cheap, for one. No memory cards or multi-tap or cord extensions to buy. Network adapter out of the box. Custom sound tracks.
Then you move on to the games. Halo, Kotor, Rainbow six, project gothem, Crimson skies, Mec warrior, Splinter Cell, Ninja Gaiden, Fable, halo 2, Wolfienstien, ..
The list goes on and on, something for everyone.

Well, whether or not I buy one will depend on the games that are on the XBox that aren''t on PC or Gamecube. Right now I''m not seeing a killer app- and I don''t mean that as a general knock on the XBox, just how I see it personally. Fable comes pretty close- but after Black and White I don''t trust Molyneux as far as I could kick him. We''ll just have to wait and see.

mmmm green xbox... it might actually convince me to get one...

The voices say hello.
An indication that this rumor may be true: GameStop.com has lowered the price on their pre-owned XBox''s and PS2''s to $139 from $149 and tossed in a free game. Since they''d almost certainly have to drop the price to $119-$129 if the new versions of these systems drop in price, this indicates that they''re in agreement with the rumors. I''m tempted to pick up a PS2 at that price... but not if I can pick up a new one for $10 more in a few weeks!
Everything can be debated, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's debatable.

This article on Yahoo (courtesy of EvilAvatar) references the Wall Street Journal in confirming that MSoft will be dropping the price to $149 next month. In addition, they also mention a limited-edition XBox w/ Halo for $169 (something I''ve heard hinted about on other sites as well).

If Sony follows suit, then I''m going underground, so my wife can''t find me and kill me.
Hmmmm... Did a certain young rodent ninja buy a PS2 recently?

No, a young rodent ninja bought an Xbox, a new Radeon AGP card, a fist full of ram.......
