GWJ SC2 Season League and Weekly Tournaments.

Hmmmm. I'd love to help you get that sorted out during the week. It was reeeallly bad today.

Do you think it might be because your STREAM was throttling the uprate? Was your Stream running constantly?

I guess that's possible. I had my output in vent set to like -5 by the end. Don't know what else to do.

Also: all the videos on my stream except the last one of Dax/Greybush are going to get deleted. The framerate in them is awful because my stream settings were so messed up.

It wasn't your volume. It was the sound quality. It was verry heavily distorted and muffled.

Well, I don't know what to do about it because when I run the test it sounds fine, and the bitrate and whatever other settings are all set by the vent server.

Count me in for the tourney next weekend if there is one. My schedule is clear both Sat and Sunday so I can pretty much commit to being there 100%.

Count me in for next week too. Looking forward to it!

Cool

I set it as an event in the steam group.

Also, if our player count stays odd, I have a friend who plays a lot on the weekends that might be interested. He's a platinum terran, doubt anybody will remember but his tag is Greybushgamer. He played in some team games with us maybe a couple months ago. I think Tkyl, Tempest, moosicle, maybe a few others. We did some in-group 3v3's if memory serves me correctly.

Cool. See you next Saturday.

God help us all, he appeared. We're doomed!

Also: Still only four people signed up for Tkyl's league? Ridiculous. Come on people, get your name on that list.

Put you both on the bracket for next Saturday.

I apologize for missing last weekend, real world stuff came up at the last minute. I should be good for this Saturday as long as I know the time relatively soon.

3:30pm EST. I should be on around 3 to 3:15ish to start finalizing things. I'll have the starting map for each round set beforehand this time, listed on the Challonge site and here in the thread.

Last time with the tournament going four rounds we ran about three and a half hours, but if I'd removed the noshows before hitting the start button and regenerated the bracket it would have only been three rounds.

If we end up with just 8 players again I might switch it up and try a standard double elimination bracket this week. It will result in a couple more matches being played for some people, but I think it will actually take about the same amount of time and the bonus would be that we'll have an actual final game instead of it just stopping and declaring a winner based on points.

I think it would be cool to have an actual final match for people to spectate and maybe even cast.

I am contemplating going full spec for this tourney. And doing nothing but streams. It would depend on the interest level.

Dude. You won the first one. Not participating isn't an option Especially when so far there's only four people signed up to play this week.

If anyone should jump to just spectating and streaming it should be a guy whose only "win" was against a player who didn't show up. You know, like me

I think I have my stream smoothed out again so it shouldn't be all choppy like it was for part of last week's, and I did my best to work on whatever everybody's problem was with my mic. Hopefully I'll get a chance in the next couple days to figure out if I had any success.

I'll be putting up starting maps for each round, final start time, and maybe another detail or two tonight. And again, still only four people on that list. Please put your name on there or even contact me on Steam to say you're in for Saturday. Trying to keep up with who's interested just by reading the SC2 threads is a pain.

I'd join this weekend, but I won't be in town.

I'm guessing the commentating started in the later matches on Pikey's stream, early on it was music playing over the game? I'd like to watch you guys, especially if there is commentary, but wasn't into the music over top of the game.

There was commentary for the very last match of the tourney, the tie breaker for 2nd place.

Rest, including all my matches from my point of view had music.

ps. What didn't you liek about the music? That there was music? Or the selectiion?

I play music when I play too, and I did indeed leave it on even when I was just spectating.

why oh why do I have to work this weekend, this tourney business sounds fun

I'm clear on Saturday. Sign me up. I'll go down in flames, of course, but it'll be fun.

And I'll see if I can get my mic working well with Vent before then.

I'm down. What time zone is the 3:30?

edit: reading is fun! Anyway sign me up.

Details for Saturday:
Start time: 3:30pm EST
Starting maps:
Round 1: Metalopolis
Round 2: Backwater Gulch
Round 3: Shattered Temple
Round 4: Xel'Naga Caverns (If a 4th round is needed, depends on player count and tournament style)

Gather in the GWJ channel on battle.net.

Oh, and be on the GWJ Ventrilo server if you're interested in voicechat during the tournament. We'll be in the "Starcraft Heathens" channel.

Streams:
justin.tv/pikey26
justin.tv/thinj825

Actually, IE has been able to display PNG for ages. Proper handling of alpha channels in IE is more recent.

Is that your coded way of saying you're going to play in the tournament?

No complaints on the selection, I'm just one those types that can't listen to music while gaming (except driving games). However, I now associate "Hurt" and Johny Cash with zerg rushing.

Interesting. So far this week we have an entirely different crew other than Pikey and myself.

At 7 already though.

anyway i could still get in on this?

Absolutely.

I added you. Looks like it's giving you the first round bye from the odd number of players, but you're on there.

I'm in too if possible. If it's too late since the bracket is already done, I'll be an alternate in case someone doesn't show.

No. I got you.

GG guys. I gotta learn zvz some time...

If everybody shows we're set for 8 players again.

If anybody else wants in speak up.

Also, I've added Pikey as an admin for this week. If anybody realizes late that they have time tomorrow and want in (or the opposite and they can't make it) try to get a hold of Pikey sometime tomorrow before the start time so he can get the participant list edited.

*Also made the bracket image link directly to the tournament on the Challonge site.
