March 15 - March 19

God of War 3. As if I weren't lusting after this particular game enough already, the endless praise from the enthusiast press has only cemented my need for this game. Both previous games exist as prime examples of pure, unadulterated fun, and my enthusiasm for a third trip into the murderous realm of Kratos can not be measured on mortal scales.
What is interesting about this week, however, is the also rans. This is not a week to be too quickly dismissed as all about GoW3. Metro 2033, for example, tempts me with promises of moody gunplay in the fascinating setting the Moscow underground. Developer 4A Games describes this game as a love-letter to PC gamers, which is a phrase that instantly endears me.
I haven't even gotten to Dragon Age: Origin - Awakening yet, about which I know relatively little except that it is more Dragon Age, and thus is sure to be a hit. More Pokemon on the DS means the rich get richer and the addicted get their digital methadone hit one more time, and last but not least, the once might Command and Conquer franchise slinks onto the PC for a fourth iteration .
This is the paragraph where I point out what a busy November it is, but of course, we're not in the middle of the Christmas rush. This is March, people! Honestly, I have no idea what's going on anymore.

Is Cave Story WiiWare next week? I'm waiting for that!
Infinite Space for me. Counting the minutes down.

Resonance of Fate is also a nice-looking strategic JRPG, if you're into that kind of thing and not already playing Final Fantasy XIII.
I've also heard very good things about Fragile Dreams on the Wii. It's a flashlight exploration game with RPG elements.
It's out on the 22nd.

I'm really interested in checking out Metro 2033. I should probably play the copy of STALKER I already have, but this one I can play on the 360 with a proper framerate. Unless the reviews are through the roof I'll definitely at least give it a rent or wait for the price to drop.

Too many good looking games coming out recently. It's a feast.
It's nice to have a steady trickle of exciting games come out in spring. We should have recessions more often!

Hot damn, I can't wait for GoW3! I loved the original, and the sequel is one the best action games I've ever played, on any system. Needless to say, my expectations are staggering, and by all accounts, it sounds like they will be handily met.
Just Cause 2 should maybe be listed as coming soon (the 23rd). The demo for that game is already my game of the month. Talk about ridiculous amounts of fun.
Woot! More Dragon Age but first I have to finish Mass Effect 2 and Assassins Creed 2 first.

C&C4? When did that happen?!

Realistically, I could see myself buying:
2 copies of the Dragon Age expansion (PC and 360)
C&C4
Metro 2033
God of War III
Resonance of Fate
and Infinite Space
As it is, I have GoW III on the way from Amazon, and I'll grab a copy of Metro 2033 and the Dragon Age expansion tomorrow.

Boy, I sure am glad to have neither the time nor the money to pick any of those up.

The Dragon Age xpac is out already?? Based on the level of media I'd seen about it I assumed it wasn't going to be released for a while yet.

This makes me wonder what happens if any of the GWJers lose their jobs--are they banned from the site, all traces of their existence removed? Would Certis have to start gamerswithoutjobs.com?

I'll be keeping an eye on Resonance of Fate. But where the heck is Mega Man 10 (360)? Next week?
Gaming IDs | Art | Backloggery | Twitter
Indeed, as should Splinter Cell: Conviction (4/13), NIER (4/27), Red Dead Redemption (5/18), and Lost Planet 2 (5/18), all of which release the same day or sooner than the listed "coming soon" games.

Mega Man 10 hits XBLA on March 31st, as Game Room is the XBLA release next week.
I understand that the 360 d-pad really hampers the experience on the 360, but I still don't quite follow why they staggered the MM10 release across consoles in the first place.

No kidding. I hate the d-pad and I don't use it if I can help it. The joystick works just fine for me.

After Darksiders, Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno I'm starting to get a little tired of the format... but hey, it's Kratos so I guess I'll join the legions of GoW players once again.
But I'm most excited about Infinite Space. Come to me, my preciousssssssssss!

When are we expected to play all these games? The traditional lull in games releases, which no longer exists, allowed me to play games I hadn't gotten around to yet...
I can barely contain my lack of enthusiasm.
Oh! Infinite Space! I'd forgotten all about that and I've just been jonesing for something new on my DS.
I still want Metro 2033 but I may have to lay it aside for a while. Besides, Red Steel 2 next week! I've read some good things about it that were written recently, so hopefully they reflect the final product instead of last year's E3 promises.
EDIT: Aaaaannd I just got a chill watching the Fragile Dreams trailer. Another one that piqued my interest and then fell to the side. This is a bad time to learn that my tax refund will not be the bounty I had anticipated.
Failing to be a positive influence since 2003.
That does look really interesting. Luckily I don't own a Wii, so I can't buy it.

Usually they just start a thread and everyone who still has a job gathers round for some quality commiserating and job hunting advice.
Then Certis bans them.
I'm curious about Resonance of Fate, but I'm happy to let adam bite the bullet first and tell us all just how incomprehensible it is.
