Red Dead Redemption Catch-all

Reviews are coming in. Some amazing reviews. The NYT review is a love letter.

So looking forward to 5/18.

I was just going to make this.

Really, really looking forward to this game.

Voice acting sounds excellent and Rockstar generally pay a high attention to detail.

Can't wait for this.

Totally looking forward to it, but I think I'm going to media backout this one and be content with the trailer I saw back in the summer.

My nephew worked on the new trailer, so i was compelled to watch. It's awesome stuff.

Since this is coming from Rockstar, the makers of GTA4, I just hope that I don't have to ride my horse for miles after accepting a mission.

I would have played GTA4 more if it wasn't for the stupid driving to where the mission really starts.

Might be the best I've ever seen in a trailer, really impressive. Grats to your nephew, Jonny.

After the 1866 mod for Mount & Blade rekindled my interest in the Old West, I'm looking forward to this one very, very much.

I am totally down for this. Hopefully it's like GUN, but with more STUFF to do. Looks sweet.

Incredible trailer.

I was already sold on Red Dead as it represents gameworld severely underrepresented in gaming (no space-marines, no war-vets, no fantasy worlds, oh my!). It also helps that it's coming from a top-tier developer too.

Man, there are simply too many games coming in the first half of 2010.

And without the incredibly inappropriate racial stereotypes.

Yeah, 'cause when I think ROCKSTAR + Wild West, it screams "political correctness."

No Red Harlow?

Looks fantastic.

I never played Red Dead Revolver, but this looks really good. I'm wondering if I should try to make time with my pile for the original in anticipation...

Meh... consoles only. But it looks so nice that it made me think that spring might be the time to get new 360.

Eh, I feel the opposite. Travel time is a price I will gladly pay for a world that feels big and full of options. I dig ambiance in a game, immersion is a big deal for me so I certainly won't mind riding my horse across the landscape.

I don't mind the travel ... just not after the mission starts. Either that or put in some more checkpoints in the mission.

Gah! Can't watch it at work! Can any one summarize? Is it awesome?

It's beyond awesome.

Fantastic scenery. Massive open world. Lasooin' folks, being chased by bears, saving stage coaches from bandits (or not), skinny blokes with Irish accents, Mexican revolutions, treasure maps, wanted posters... I could go on.

That sounds like a huge pile of awesome. Thank you.

And a voice-over from some one from the accounting department, as far as I can tell.

I get excited about this, and then I realize that they'll likely amp up the sex, swearing, and violence so much that it'll sell like gang-busters but not be any fun for this old puritan.

Hehe, yup. A good old-fashion sales pitch. Looks good.

Filthy enabler! F- it, I'm getting new 360 ;] It's one of most promising trailers I've seen in past few years.

I was thinking his last job was probably doing the voice over for a nature documentary about muskrats.

Actually, I really like this different method over the usual over-the-top movie trailer type bullsh*t. Considering the game's setting, the History Channel-esque presentation (as Kotaku put it) works quite well.

This trailer just sold me.

I'm even more sold on this game, I just wish they hadn't done that video in such an infomercial style.

Wow! I was already psyched for this but that Gameplay video just amped my excitement quite a bit. GTA + Wild West will be epic or sure and I'm all over this on launch!

Westerns aren't really my kind of thing, but this game sure looks like it is.

Well one thing I like is it's not really a genre that's over saturated with games, so there's a fair bit of room for experimentation.
