November 30th to December 4th

We have a couple weeks before the Avatar movie comes out, but you're welcome to immerse yourself into the land of the blue people with Avatar: The Game in the mean time. Owners who have a 3D TV, 3D glasses and a console that has an HDMI output (sorry, 20GB 360 owners) can even play in three dimensions. If you can afford all that tech and you're grabbing the game day one, let us know how it is! Also, you have too much money.

In other news, Ubisoft has thrown the Might & Magic name into a pink Easy-Bake oven for 30 minutes and come out with Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes. Anime cut scenes? Solving puzzles? If not for King's Bounty: Armored Princess I might succumb to despair, seeing a once venerable PC series turning tricks for eager tweens.

I have no interest in the game but playing a 3D supported game on a 3D TV sounds pretty damn cool.

Certis, 20GB Xbox 360s with HDMI output do exist... I have one of them :)

MS upgraded the Xbox 360 Pros back in the summer of 2007 with HDMI outputs.

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about Rogue Warrior? Not that I have time to play it, what with the hojillion other games I am currently playing, but my gaming ADD is rearing it's ugly (childlike) head again!

If you can't be a good example, at least be a horrible warning.

I thought I had a reprieve to catch up on games but then I saw that Steam is having a sale. Oh well!

I can barely contain my lack of enthusiasm.

I wonder if Bestbuy or some place has this 3D TV and game setup! I would like to check it out as well.

I tried it. It sucks. I hesitate to say that about any game, because I realize how "meh" it sounds. But it truly, truly sucks. There's nothing fluid about the gameplay, nor is it very visually appealing.

The M&M game has been getting pretty good reviews so far. It may be worth a look when it hits bargain bins next month.

Yes, my 20GB XBox 360 has HDMI, although I meet none of the other requirements (including a desire to actually play an "Avatar" game).

With the amount of great games that have came out in the last 2 months, I have no interest in Rogue Warrior whatsoever. I only saw a preview of it when I was at a Gamestop a few months back and the clerk would not let me alone about it. I wasn't impressed at all, the game looks sub par at best. Of course, this is just a shallow opinion of mine. But I rather spend my hard earned cash on other great games that have recently came out.

It is very strange to me that DiRT 2 is a day one purchase. While I've played & enjoyed a few iterations of the Colin McCrae series, I normally don't jump on them right away. In this case the Steam sale basically gave me the sequel free when I bought two copies of the original as gifts.

Besides the exception that is this week, I find myself a little depressed by all the games out that look so good--too many choices! I need to get some of my doppelgangers out from cold storage so I can pretend to enjoy them all.

The Chinese people are much happier gamers than those from other countries. Why? They enjoy their freedom from being forced to choose. No WOW! No games containing gangster, pornographic, drug, or other such elements that subvert socialist harmony and the will of the people! Yes, gaming is a far more pure activity here.

Did Silent Hill really slide back another week? I'm losing hope. I'll still buy it out of franchise loyalty, and because it's one of the games my wife wants me to play, but I'm expecting to be disappointed.

Be seeing you.

I wish they had been able to pull off the original design intentions for this. Multiplayer shooter with randomly generated maps. Ohhhh well, probably still rent it, I'm a big fan of Marcinkos.

I'm actually looking forward to this game, and a 9/10 review from Edge to me generally means I'll enjoy the game.

Since the M&M franchise name hasn't meant "quality game" to me since, say, 1996 (not a fan of HoMM 3+ or M&M 6+) I don't see a problem with a developer trying to breathe some life back into a dead series.

Is there really any excitement for Avatar? Every industry person that I've heard talking about it (with exception to the guys at Co-Op, though they did indeed experience it in 3D) has been totally disinterested. Ubisoft seems to have a lot of faith in the game, saying that it and Assassin's Creed II would keep them afloat over the holiday season, but I just don't see the interest.
