November 16 - November 20

I could happily buy 4 new games this week -- easy. Not many weeks come around where I look at the release list and top to bottom I land on more than 1 or 2 titles that I would genuinely consider laying down money for. This week, I can't imagine how I won't drop a couple hundred dollars I don't have. And, if I'm forced to choose just one, what the hell do I pick?
Looking down the list, we have Left 4 Dead 2, Assassin's Creed II, Lego Indiana Jones 2, Tony Hawk: Ride, New Super Mario Brothers Wii and even Little Big Planet on the PSP. Hell, were there not all these other titles jockeying for position I'd even give more than a passing glance to the God of War Collection on the PS3. Wherever your interests may lie, that there is one hell of a release week. If you can't find something good in this deluge, you may want to consider taking up needlepoint.
As a father of two and a primarily isolated gamer, I have to admit that New Super Mario Bros and Lego Indiana Jones 2 are probably my 'buy em' games for the week, but I'm going with community for my Game of the Week -- Left 4 Dead 2.

I just realized earlier today that L4D2 was coming out tomorrow. Thanks to Dragon Age I've installed the L4D2 demo and played it exactly zero times. And now I have to make room for the actual game? When exactly am I supposed to eat again?

Officially less than 12 hours till the release of L4D2! Probably not going to get much sleep tonight

Between this and the Leonid meteor shower at 3 AM, it will be an all-nighter for me. I should probably nap in the afternoon a bit.

Argh. A friend and I were talking this weekend about how we used to put so many hours into single games. Replaying them over and over or investing ourselves until we knew every strategy, every secret. Now days I'm lucky to even finish the main campaign or story of a game before 3 others I have been looking forward to are released.
Sigh, the pile is looking mighty high and my willpower so low when it comes to the new and shiny. Time to add L4D2 to the summit.

It's worth noting that Gyromancer also comes out this week, the bastard game-child made on a dare out of Puzzle Quest envy, by Popcap and Square-Enix on Steam and XBLA. As to when we'll find the time to play it, good luck with that.

I've already bought New Super Mario Brothers Wii and Left 4 Dead 2 for the PC. I have the 360 version on the way from Amazon, as well. I really want the God of War Collection, as I've never played either game. And Assassin's Creed II looks awfully good.
And LittleBigPlanet PSP is a day one purchase for me, although I thought that was next week. This week works better for me, though, as I am leaving for vacation next week, and won't have a reliable internet connection for the PSN version.

But we all know, that's not how Valve works. Then again, releasing a sequel 1 year after the original is also not how Valve works.
Wish I had a computer that would run L4D2.
As much as I intially didn't care about New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the more I've seen on it, the more it has looked appealing.

I sure hope they can keep to that.

Yes, it's a good week when even the non-marquee titles look good. For you it's the God of War collection; for me, it's Anything Resident Evil.
I have been looking forward to Assassin's Creed II more than anything else this fall, and it's going to be a very difficult decision come midnight as to whether I want to finish Uncharted 2 before busting the shrinkwrap. Sharing LightBender's angst, I don't want to let myself be rushed through anything, and I've been ignoring games I would love to play to concentrate only on games I really really really love love love to play.
Tomorrow I will be getting 3 new games. I couldn't pass up Amazon's $20 credit towards a game when buying MW2, so I bought that Friday, which gave me a $20 credit which I used toward Assassin's Creed II, and I've hand L4D2 pre-ordered since it first became available on Steam.
I don't have the slightest idea what I'll play (with what little gaming time I can find).

I picked up New Super Mario Bros Wii yesterday, and it's an excellent game! I'm looking forward to taking it home for Thanksgiving and having all the cousins play with me. It'll be great for that kind of situation.

I forgot all about Gyromancer.
PopCap + Square Enix + Puzzle Quest = WIN
Now I just need to decide between XBLA or Steam. While the 360 might offer a better presentation on the big screen, I'm thinking this game might be best suited for casual laptop play. Of course if it were coming out on PSP (which it isn't) that would be the best of all worlds, as I sunk an ungodly amount of time into Puzzle Quest PSP.
I'm definitely enjoying New Super Mario Bros since I picked that up yesterday.
But now I'm curious about Kamen Rider games... Because I enjoyed the TV series. Anybody got any scoop on it?
I guess I need to take up needlepoint. As soon as I get tired of Dragon Age, and MW2, and Demon's Souls, and WOW, and...
I'd be interested in Assassin's Creed II if it were the game I expected it to be at the end of Assassin's Creed I: Desmond, in the modern world. Stretching it out by cramming another game in the middle for more money... no thanks, Ubisoft. Call me next game, maybe.
But everyone should get Gyromancer. Or, you know, at least get the trial version. You can still read the credits in the trial version.

I bought MW2 because I have no will and to hold me over for three-four days until my L4D2 Steam pre-order unlocked. Now I am addicted to MW2 and can't wait to go home and try my Grip perk. Does that sound dirty?
Anyhoo, now I am stuck between the addictive leveling in MW2 and a zombie horde crying out for me.
I don't care what people say. The rush is worth the price I pay.
What kind of game is L4D2? I haven't heard about it before.

Giant Bomb had a Quick Look at 4 person Mario, and it looked really fun. I'd love to play something like that with my kid, but seeing as he's just over a year old, I'm ok with waiting a while to do so.

What the hell is LEGO Indy 2? Does it just add the fourth (and worst) movie and rearrange the achievements? That sounds horribly lame.

I have exams for the next 2 weeks, and then I have a week of camps, concerts and parties. Hopefully I find some time to play Left 4 Dead 2 in there, but it seems unlikely. I've also bought about (literally) 20 other games that I haven't gotten around to playing yet, including Resident Evil 4, Okami, Mass Effect, Beyond Good and Evil, Stalker. As you can tell, I have some serious catching up to do.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii for me
I already got it last night, and am LOVING it!
I didn't know GoW collection comes out this week. Am I destined to stay poor?

Oh darn, I confused this week's L4D2 release with the sequel to the critically acclaimed *Legion* for Dictator 1 Action-RPG-Semi-Realtime-Tactical Rhythm-MMO-FPS-Hybrid.
I hear the CE comes with a *Legion* bobble head poster, artbook and soundtrack. Not to mention the in-game bonus codes for Nurse *Legion* and *Legion* as a schoolgirl costumes.

Petz Dogz Talent Show and Petz Hamsterz Superstarz remain unmentioned and unridiculed for their spelling idiosyncracies? The so-called "Elysium" is an impostor!

Not a hard week for me. Finish Dragon Age and pick up Modern Warfare 2. I've avoided Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Left 4 Dead, perhaps idiotically, but I have to eat at some point, and so I'm fine ignoring at least some games, even if they are critically and communally acclaimed successes.
If I ever get back into community play, it will be LotRO or EVE. I've turned into a loner.
L4D 2 is coming on the slow boat from Amazon. I remember liking pieces of Assassin's Creed but the idea of playing the second one fills me with complete and total, Meh.
