Not sure if anyone has started one for this or not.

Looks like the old school mario brothers with up to 4 people at once.

Is this the new "shocking" game they were talking about?

No, this is not the new shocking game. Ninty have been talking about NSMB for way before they mentioned the new shocking game.

Personally, I'm looking forward to this as something I can muck about in with the missus. It's this game which is making me consider picking up a third (and maybe even fourth) wiimote.

I'm excited for this game, because it means great family competition during the holidays. Between Mario Kart and Brawl, this will be an awesome addition.

My boyfriend is a strict NON gamer...and he loves Mario Kart Wii... it is the only game I have ever been able to get him to play.

I am hoping to get him to play this with me.

So far I've failed to see how the "cooperative" aspect will be anything but an exercise in frustration. All I've seen is players messing each other up and no real cooperation happening (or necessary).

I agree, except this game makes me wish I hadn't sold my Wii. If I had known a 2d Mario platformer would be coming to the system I woulda held onto it, even though I'm sure I'd be playing this one single player instead of coop.

As with any co-op game, I imagine that this is all in who you're playing with.

Yeah, I can see my getting in a few fights over this. Could be a really fun party! Fights and All.

If it's anything like LBP multiplayer, you're too busy laughing to care about how well you're doing. LBP lets you whap each other about, though.

Whats LBP?

LittleBigPlanet.

It will probably be a better party game than a co-op. And that's probably what I'll use it for after I play through the single player first.

I want to get little big planet...but PS3 plus controllers when I have a wii with controllers already sitting waiting. Seem meh... even though I am sure I will do it at some point when I have the extra cash hehe

Yeah Dominic Knight, I still do the same so I can see the game without people pissing me off... Then I can have fun with pissing them off since I already know it

I played this at E3 and it is pure awesomeness.

How's the multiplayer?

I'm considering it, but it's kind of far down the list because platormers are not my favorite game genre generally. Also the multiplayer looks like it would be frustrating if the player skill levels are too far apart. Since the people I'm likely to play with are a quarter my age, there's definite skill disparity going on.

I understand this also, I mean anyone I would play with would be a friend whom does not play games. Like when we play Mario Kart Wii... its not even fun sometimes. We come up with things to handicap me.

I'm planning on getting this for Christmas and playing with my family on Christmas.

It comes out a few days before my bday. I made the official hint to the girl to pick it up for me.

Multiplayer is great because it rewards both competitive play and cooperative play.

My only decision is whether to save the game for Xmas for the family or screw it and open it as soon as it arrives in the mail.

My Wii sits in a drawer and collects dust most of the year, but I keep it solely because I know games like this will come out from time to time. That and it's my GameCube.

Put in my pre-order for it today. That's one thing done off my list.

On the plus side, Wiis have come down in price now. So you could repurchase it for less than you originally bought it.

I picked this up yesterday, and it's been pretty good so far, even if it's nothing revolutionary: just more great 2D Mario gameplay, with a few new tweaks and some added waggle, which thankfully isn't too offensive. It's also pretty tough -- I'm only half-way through world 2, but I've already had my ass handed to me by a few levels. Unfortunately, some of those deaths have come cheaply, due to issues with the Wiimote's D-pad, and specifically trouble with pushing diagonally on it. I might have to try another Wiimote tonight to see if it's a general issue, or one specific to that controller; I think there's also a Nunchuk control option, so I'll investigate that too.

I haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I dare say that's where the real fun in this lies. Hopefully I'll have a chance to try at least a two-player game over the weekend.

Does it have a classic controller option too? I'd think if it allows for nunchuk it would also mean the classic could be used.
