I'm very interested, even though I never did finish the first game for the PS3. I never played the series on the PS2, but it's one of those where I do intend to eventually go back and give them a try.
Also, the downloadable game is on sale this week for $10.

Ratchet & Clank is easily one of my favorite series of all-time. The last game really returned to what made the series great and I have high hopes for this one. Looks like they've really beefed up the visuals, too.

I'm looking forward to it. I've played all the main Ratchet games (not including PSP games or the one on PSN) and even the worst of them has been a lot of fun to play through. It's a shame that when people mention upcoming games Ratchet & Clank is always one of those that people seem to forget about, I'd forgotten the release was so close myself.
How did I not start this catch-all?
I've already preordered, and will likely finish the game within 3-4 days of delivery. I can't help it. Quite honestly, this is probably my favorite game series of all time.
I'm not 100% sure that I'll like the clank focused areas with the time oriented puzzles, but we'll see!

Ratchet and Clank games are among the select few games I've played through more than once. Part of it has to do with the fact that it's a great series to play with my 6 year old, and also due to the fact that Insomniac loads up the game with TONS of stuff to do after your initial play through. According to a recent dev diary on Gametrailers, "A Crack in Time" has more content to do after you complete the game than any other of the Ratchet and Clank games that came before, so that alone has me really excited.
Oh, and for the record, I prefer referring to this Ratchet and Clank game by using its original title (which Sony marketing requested them to change): "Clock Blockers".

Hah, that's an awesome name
Also nice to hear that there's going to be a ton of replay value. I agree that they've always done a great job with that in the Ratchet & Clank games, also some of the few games I play through more than once. I felt like the last one didn't have quite as much goodness the second time through, though (and Quest for Booty had none), so I'm glad to hear they are bringing that back in full force.

I can't wait for this. I've been a huge R&C fan since the first game. This one looks great, and most previews are saying it's actually innovating a bit on the formula. BTW, Quest for Booty is on sale on PSN right now for $9.99. I just picked it up the other day.

Insomniac hints that this may be the last Ratchet & Clank... at least for awhile.
The series has been going on for awhile now so I wouldn't be surprised if they finally wrap it up. Maybe it'll make a return on the next Sony system? Who knows. It does make me a little sad as I love the series so much, but they did start going downhill on the PS2 so I'd hate to see the same thing happen again. Hopefully it'll end on a high note.
Also makes me wonder what they have up their sleeves. We'll probably see Resistance 3 next year, so does that mean Insomniac is working on a new IP for 2011?

Ratchet and Clank is by far the best platformer series ever (in my opinion, of course)!
HUGE fan of the PS2 titles, and the first PS3 title was one of the first games I picked up a couple weeks ago when I finally scored my Playstation.
Only thing is, playing it made me nauseous. I had the same experience when went from PS2 Katamari Damacy to XBox360. Hopefully I can figure out how to deal with the swooping camera without needing to lay down on the couch with a cold washcloth on my head and convince the contents of my stomach to stay put.

I really enjoyed the first PS3 R&C, I even played it through a second time on Hard. It did feel a bit rushed at times, though, like the developers ran out of time towards the end. Hopefully A Crack in Time will be to Tools of Destruction what Uncharted 2 is to the original: the same formula with everything polished to an incredible level.
This is definitely on my Christmas list, along with way too many other games.
This could be a really nice diversion while I wait for Dragon Age. I finished the last PS3 version, it was a good time.

I'm trying to keep from getting too hyped up, but I know I will love this game since the original is one of my favorites of this generation. Scooped the downloadable game for 10 to whet my whistle and I'll pick this one up after the monthlong rush of MW2 playing on two platforms wears out.

Eeee! How did I miss the fact that there's now a demo available via PSN?
It clocks in at 2.4GB, and appears to cover some Clank gameplay bits. Let the downloading commence!

Demo impressions:
It's a Ratchet and Clank game 'play as Clank sequence'. Visuals and controls are great. Voice acting sounds up to the series gold standard. The demo also does pretty decent job of introducing Clank's time manipulation abilities. Puzzles aren't difficult (so far), and it even has a built in hint mechanism.
In short, if you've enjoyed previous games, this one should please you as well.
I can't wait for Tuesday!

One of the three games I've played on my PS3, I really enjoyed the prior one. I'm looking forward to this but like Uncharted it's going to have to wait until after the glut of multiplayer games coming out and the singleplayer beast that is Dragon Age. Should make for some good entertainment in the late winter or spring though.

There is a code for $5 off the Amazon.com pre-order: "RATCHET3". I got this code in a PSN email. Amazon.com no longer shows the pre-order bonuses though.
I really enjoyed Up Your Arsenal and Future: Tools of Destruction but feel like going back and playing 1 and 2 might not be as fun. Here's hoping they have some fun motion control also since the last one had some very frustrating motion control.

I just cancelled my Amazon 'day of' pre-order so I could get this through the Best Buy 3-for-2 sale. Good deal, but it'll be a few days longer before I get it now.

Oh man, is Quest For Booty still on sale? I've enjoyed all the R&C I've played, and was hoping to snag them on discount. Crack in Time looks like loads of fun, going to nab the demo when I get home.

its disapointingly short for such a big download, but it does go through the time manipulation mechanics, so if you dont mind 2gb download for 15-20 minutes of play, go for it.
Too many games! Can't handle it all! I think I might have to wait til next year on R&C...

I'm playing Quest for Booty right now. Either I've been taking stupid pills^tm, or the game is unintuitive, because I'm heading to gamefaqs yet again.

I bought Quest for Booty last night, played it for like ten minutes, and couldn't figure out where to go. I chalked it up to being tired, and turned it off. Maybe I'll try to play it before starting A Crack In Time, but I like new and shiny.
Of course, I don't know when I'll get around to starting A Crack In Time.....

Crack in Time is great. The game adheres so closely to the standard formula that it's like putting on an old pair of comfortable gloves.
The outer space sections are a bit austere, but I've only been through two of them so far. Death isn't too punishing, and the auto saves work about as well as you'd expect.
All in all, a solid title in the R&C series. If I didn't have to go to work tomorrow, I'd be playing all night!

Amazon gave me the pre-order bonus code in an email this morning. Will my game arrive today? I am actually excited by the pre-order bonus because it comes with two items (the box basher and bolt magnetizer) that make the tedious money collecting a lot less tedious. The first smashes boxes without you being close to them and the second draws them all to you. They should really just be part of the game.
They're not?
They used to be unlocks for later in the game... is that the only way to get them? If so then I feel betrayed!
EDIT The internet claims:
Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.
They were in Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and are in the new one. I was just saying they should be unlocked from the start. Its kind of a hassle to bash all the boxes and run around collecting the money.
What does having the Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction save unlock? Is it a discount from the store like some of the previous games?
