Rock Band: Pink Floyd
Made you look! I made this post because I want this suggestion to ripple anonymously out into the world to the people who decide these things, especially after I read a 1up news story where (God forbid) U2 expressed interest in being the next spotlight band for a Rock Band game.
This must not happen.
So, instead, I suggest to the universe: Rock Band: Pink Floyd. And I suggest it here because I have hopes that this forum will have a lower number of people who stare with blank non-recognition at the name of one of the greatest bands of all time, certainly a band that could take on the Rock Band treatment with amazing results.
You even have all the imagery already established in the same way as the Beatles. The Wall? Oh my god (that flower scene). Animals (flying pig). Dark Side of the Moon (license Wizard of Oz footage). Meddle, Sid Barrett stuff (acid trip visuals yo).
Plus you'd be playing David f*@king Gilmour guitar! Give fair representation and follow David Gilmour with "Pink Floyd," while you give me some tracks and visuals from Roger Waters solo albums Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking (guitar track by Eric Clapton) or Amused to Death (guitar track by Jeff Beck)!
Maybe not a party atmosphere game but I think there's a whole squad of goth kids out there these days who think the Cure is as far back as they should bother to go.
Universe! Rock Band: Pink Floyd. Make it happen.

I'd enjoy a Pink Floyd Rock Band just as much as a U2 Rock Band...both would be great.
I'd really enjoy a Rush, Police or Radiohead Rock Band the most though.

You got me all excited, then you let me down, you're just like all the girls in high school.
Honestly I would love a Pink Floyd version, and I think you have the right of it; this site would go nuts over it.
Torq - I can certainly see myself whipping it out for a quick solo on commutes though.
I like Pink Floyd but I'm not sure their larger catalog is that well known. Most people know The Wall and Dark Side, and maybe a few of the more recent songs.
I'd prefer something like Rush, Iron Maiden, or Led Zep (that would happen right after monkeys fly out my butt). Got my old denim jacket with all the rock pins ready, oh yeah!

No link, but I just recently read that Pink Floyd said they'd consider it if approached about a RB:PF.

I love PF as much as the next guy, but I think they'd be kind of boring in Rock Band..
Personally, I want Rock Band : Dream Theater

Hmm, given my druthers, I'd go for a The Who: Rock Band, or a Rolling Stones: Rock Band over Floyd. But my real dream is for them to integrate a keyboard/keytar peripheral so there can be a grand New Wave/Post Punk: Rock Band game! Step into the shoes of Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls, the Cure, New Order.. I'd be fine without the licensed avatars, as long as the character generation system is robust enough to imitate them.

I'd buy it, but only if they let you play "Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun" at Pompeii.

I actually like the U2 Rock Band idea, since they have a decent catalog of catchy songs that would be fun to play on any instrument. That, and my wife loves U2 and hates Rock Band, but loves me as well, so there's at least a 50% chance I'd get to enjoy it.

There isn't enough pot in the world that would make a RB: PF tolerable to me. Rush would be cool though, as would U2.

It would! Especially if done in the '70's Ralph Bakshi Wizards style.

I want Queen. Great guitar lines, (obviously) great vocal lines, surprisingly difficult drum and bass lines, and (this is important): every song doesn't sound the same! Nothing against Pink Floyd, but they just don't have the breadth of sonic interest across their catalog that the Beatles or maybe Queen does. I'd put them a distant third in my "do want" list.

Great song, but are you trying to put your party to sleep?
(Actually, pre-Dark Side Pink Floyd would be awesome for Rock Band. That signature 60's-Psychedelic-Brit sound from songs like See Emily Play would be aces.)

Just had to;

Could you imagine playing Shine On You Crazy Diamond? It would probably be tiring to have your fingers on the frets for that long.
I'd love it though. God, I'd love it. Playing the solo from a live arrangement of Comfortably Numb? The opening riffs of Wish You Were Here or Have A Cigar? The solo from Money? I'd die happy after that.
But, the opportunity for mad dreamscapes aside, their stuff would probably work just as well as DLC for RB2.
Zeppelin, on the other hand, would be ideal for a game of their own. Alas, I've read how difficult it is to make happen because of how precious the original masters are.
Now, what I want and can't understand why I can't have are more Muse songs. It'd odd how few there are for either RB or GH.

Hello, my name is Atomicvideohead, and I'm here to admit something. I am a frequenter of record stores. I'm a reformed music snob. But. I hate the following bands, and your suggestion compels me to state this.
Pink Floyd.
Led Zeppelin.
The Beatles.
Their music makes me nauseas. Maybe not as much as it once did, but still.
Please don't make any more of these unnecessary Rock Band "sequels." If anything, they should just be DLC to the main game.
Let the flaming begin.
Life and death appeared to me ideal bounds, which I should first break through, and pour a torrent of light into our dark world.

One of the first threads I created here (if not the first) was titled "Fallout-style RPG using the Silent Storm engine".
It did not go over well.

Led Zeppelin RB is at the top of my wishlist, but since the chances of that happening are probably less than zero, I'm staking my hopes on a Black Sabbath RB. Rolling Stones, or Iron Maiden, would also be pretty awesome though.

I'm done with band-specific Rock Bands. Beatles was all well and good, but it's variety I crave. I want to be crooning pop-rock one minute and growling thrash metal the next.

Wouldn't it just be better that this entire genre just die already? I think so. Sure, it's nice that people are getting exposed to some great music, but just learn to play guitar. Not only do you get the satisfaction of playing a song, but chicks actually dig guitar players. DDR for the fingers is not a musical experience.

Also, those people that play Modern Warfare are losers too, they should go out and buy a real gun. Not only do you get the satisfaction of shooting people in the face, but chicks actually dig mass murderers.

I love Pink Floyd, but as someone who has learned a number of their baselines and guitar parts, I don't think it would make for a good game. Sorry. I absolutely love this band (Meddle and Clouds are two of my favorite albums), but I just don't see it being interesting for a whole game.
Tool, on the other hand, that would be fun.
(I also think U2 would be boring. The Edge's guitar parts are insanely repetitive.)

I would love it, but they would have to put out some sort of keyboard. That would actually make a lot of new possibilities for RB.
That would be awesome. The learning curve would be fairly steep, but otherwise Harmonix should make this happen.
