World in Conflict Resurrection
So I noticed a lot of people picked up World in Conflict since it's only $5 on Direct 2 Drive. If you haven't picked it up, HURRY - it's only $5 bucks!!!
I've always wanted to play this game with Goodjers. I wasn't sure if we should setup a game night, a steam group or both.

[b]Massgate Clan: http://www.massgate.net/profile.php?0,65948c
My Massgate name is: MrWynd
Add me as a friend and I will send an invite to the Massgate Clan. This is the easiest way to find each other inside WiC. I will promote others to send invites.
If you're just installing the game, get it patched up, then make your Massgate accounts, etc. Download the map pack here. You can alternately download the maps inside the in-game client but it takes forever.
I've got a decent amount of experience with multiplayer and would be happy to show people a thing or two. Lets get some Goodjer Nukes(TM) going!

I'll admit. I'm interested. But I've always sucked at RTS. Is this a good game to get my feet wet?

I'll get in on this! If you're not good at traditional RTS games (like me), this is a good one to play as there's no base building, you can reinforce quickly and there are a number of widely varying roles available. I absolutely want to play more of this with people.

Oh man, I haven't played this in forever. It's a blast! I'm not sure if I have the time to get any kind of regular game in, but I'd love to play if I ever do get the chance.

If you guys don't mind a total newbie who builds nothing but tanks and aircraft, I'm in.

I have WiC, but there was an expansion, wasn't there? If so, I don't have that.

I don't think not having the expansion will stop you from joining multi player
You're fine. The only thing the expansion added to the multiplayer portion were two new maps that they eventually provided to owners of the original in a patch anyways.
I would think the first rule of PR is to ignore forum people, because they vacillate between crazy and liar. - Elysium
The expansion is only worth it if you enjoy the single player campaign. Mutliplayer is unchanged as far as I know, I never bought it.
You haven't played yet huh?
You'll pick one of four positions: armor (tanks), air (helicopters), support (anti-air/artillery) or infantry (my fav!).
Support is the hardest to play with infantry coming in second. Armor can be frustrating because you rely on your teammates the most for air cover. Air is general harassment hit-and-run type tactics. It depends somewhat on the map but you almost always want two support players, one doing artillery and light anti-air and the second going with heavy anti-air exclusively. Unchecked air attacks are just so devastating.

Put me down for joining in when I get the time. I just bought the game from the $5 sale so I've never played before.

With artillery? OK. Gonna need some help finding all the pieces, though.

I have a copy of the game but I have not played it in forever.
When were these games going to happen?
Always wanted to try this one, and never got around to it. Purchased, and I'll DL when I get home.

I got this back when it first came out. It was a blast when a team worked well together, but the skill curve of the other players online went up so fast I lost interest in getting my ass handed to me regularly. I never got the expansion, but I'd be down for some online play at some point. Have to knock off some rust though.
A conversation with Goodjer the IRC bot.
Peron- Goodjer enjoys cartoon bewbs
Goodjer- Peron: sh*t was on the cartoon.
Peron- That's just nasty.
Asz- Goodjer: sh*t boobs?
Goodjer- Asz:I like boobs and technology... Now if only there were more boobs.
I'd love to join in the occasional game - I have plenty of experience in single and multi but I lack plenty of talent. =)
Let's just say I have called in desperation airstrikes against my own men more than once. I'm not too familiar with war-stuff, but I think that's generally a bad sign.

I bought it, if I have time when you guys are playing I'll give it a try. I still have to go through the tutorials though....
One of my favorites! The expansion was fun too...
I was lucky in the order,
but I've always been lucky when it comes to killin' folks.
New compy is up and running. Gonna d.load this after TF2 and L4D.

I'll bump this thread after I get my desktop back, I'd love WiC MP.

Oh man i have had my eye on this forever.
Your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for Kung Fu treachery.
I'll join as soon as I can kick my new DDO addiction.
Go for the eyes boo! Go for the eye!
Finally got the game installed last night. Evidently the built in windows .zip file utility can't handle Direct 2 Drive .zips. You have to download winzip or winrar or something to unzip it. talk about annoying!
I played a few levels and enjoyed what I got to. It reminds me of the bit of Ground Control I did play, but not sci-fi.
Hopefully I'll have some time for multiplayer this weekend between unpacking and the parent's showing up on Sunday. Speaking of which, the Steam group is by invite only. Mrwynd, can ya send me an invite or are you going to change that?

I invited you and some others in thread i had on friends list.
Got the game installed and ran through the tutorial last night. Haven't tried any muliplayer.
Didn't have any issues with the zip file. Though I did install from the direct2drive downloaded thingy.

I've got a few users in the Steam group and I've made them officers so they can invite as well. more invites sent out just now.
For adding people to the clan in Massgate/WiC I don't know of any other way than making them a friend then inviting them to the clan. When in WiC, do a player search for mrwynd and add me to get into the clan. I'll see if it's possible to make others officers so they can add people too.

Yeah, that's the other way to do it. Oddly, I don't think you can initiate that install outside of the D2D download manager, either. In the end, I downloaded the dang 6.6GB file 4 times!
Note: You only get the zip file if you choose to not use the D2D download manager.
