Pandorum Movie (Event Horizon and a dash of Mad Max)

I couldn't find anything about a catch-all for this one, so I thought I'd make one.
I just had a chance to see this movie today; confusing, but a pretty good ride. Has anyone else seen this one yet?
If I somehow missed the main thread cough away!

I saw the trailer earlier this week and it looked quite cool. I never heard of it but I guess it's been finished for two years but got stuck in an legal battle over ownership or something.
Sounds like a fun rental at least.

If it's anything like Event Horizon I don't want to see it. I went into Event Horizon thinking it was some Star Trek-like film and came out scarred.
I can barely contain my lack of enthusiasm.
I thought more Event Horizon meets Dead Space, but I've been playing a lot of Dead Space lately too, so... I only hope the atmosphere of the movie can match the atmosphere of Dead Space, because damn! is this game creepy as hell!

Is this movie limited-release or some such? The D-9 thread has... several hundred more posts, even though they occupy a similar niche.
I think this movie is worth seeing, despite the dirty-boob-wrangling silliness.

Paul WS Anderson produced it which I imagine scared many a sane individual away. I know it did in my case.

Event Horizon with a dose of acting would be have watchable. I loved the visuals and the feel to that movie, but the acting was from hunger. It was horrible. I have always thought that Event Horizon would have made a fantastic silent movie, some music, ambient sounds, confusion, creepy visuals.

Yep, sounds like Paul Anderson.
What, you think Milla Jovovich WANTS to be that thin?

I just finished watching this. I didn't care for Event Horizon, but I did like this movie. It offered enough fun to merit a spot in the Netflix queue.

It's quite a good movie, a lot is not explained,
but i guess I've grown tired of scripts that try to tie every loose end before the credit roll in, so that was a welcomed change.

Same here, Event Horizon is just bad. Pandorum really grabbed me and kept interested till the end.

I really enjoyed it. A very tense movie the whole time. Add to that, I did not see the ending of the movie coming at all. Definately creeped me out. Ben Foster is a better actor than most people give him credit for. He's done a great deal to get away from his Disney roots and it usually involves playing some disturbing characters and I think he does it well.

I was really, really torn on this movie. On the one hand, there are some great ideas going on that I've always wanted to see a sci-fi movie deal with. On the other hand, there were space-orcs, and they weren't particularly good space-orcs. And yeah, that was a pretty clever ending, a good play on expectations.
I do think "Red Dwarf: The Aliens Rip-Off Version" is a more apt description, but that's just me.

I saw the movie in theaters and I enjoyed it a lot. I wasn't a particularly deep movie by any means but it was nice to see a decent scifi flick in the theater. I really enjoyed the ending I had about half way through the movie figured out the deal with Quad's character but not about the ship.

Nice effects, but the story was kind of a jumbled mess.

I saw this a while back too. Visually interesting but otherwise crap.

I thought the movie was 70% amazing atmosphere and 30% silliness. If they revised all the monster parts it could have been really sweet.
Also, when I realized the movie had turned into Cung Le fighting in space, I couldn't decide if the movie just became totally cheesy or totally awesome.
