Gamers With Jobs - Unofficial IRC Channel
I'm posting this new thread instead of bumping the original as the useful info is pretty far down, and besides, now we do have a channel.

Anyway, could be worth seeing if there's any interest. I'm no IRC fiend by any means, but over here Quakenet was always where anything gaming related was located. I'll be idling in #gwj@quakenet and anyone is free to join.
Here's the server list (random US server: gameservers.tx.us.quakenet.org:6667) or you can use the web client by just choosing a nickname and clicking connect.
I expect it to be pretty slow at catching on, if it does, since it's likely to be prone to a moment 22 effect where people log on, see very few people on and immediately log off.
But now, we've got ~10 ~20 ~30 ~40 regular idlers! There's even conversations! We're growing! 
Also, unlike USTREAM, it doesn't cap out at 100 chatters. So next time there's a live show and you can't get into the USTREAM channel, come and check us out.

Alright, anyone know a good dedicated IRC client for OSX? I'll do some searching on my own later, but if you have any suggestions, i'm all ears.
Living in a nightmare hellride.
Colloquy is usually recommended for Macs. I use it on my iPhone and find it to be a pretty nice app.

ChatZilla is a great IRC client - it's a FireFox addon so you can have your IRC in a tab next to your GWJ tab.
