Bah, I say! There shall be no peace until they go back to the PC!

I agree
I don''t like it when games are exclusively on consoles, especially this type of game.
I find this funny
The most powerful games experiences ever? Last time I checked, the Xbox is nowhere near what today''s standard pc hardware is capable of. I just wish more developers were making pc games nowadays

They are talking about the powerful way they take over the market and put PC gaming out of business with a green and black box of obsolete PC parts.
Edit: Ok, in all fairness it is probably PC gaming putting itself out of business. But it sure seems like the X-Box has impacted my PC more than my PS2.
Well if they do mechassault with the mission structure and polish and production value of say ""Crimson Skies"", ill be all for it. It wont be Mechwarrior but it will be fun.
One thing I demand though is full load out customization. (engine, armor, electronics, weapons, and heatsinks)
edit: oh and salvage would be cool too.
Being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster.
If you keep asking for that, you will end up having Mechwarrior and M$ won''t allow that to happen.

My gut reaction is that, yes, the XBOX is generally inferior to my PC, but the reality is that the XBOX will run Armed & Dangerous, Prince of Persia, and a host of other games that my PC cannot handle without a serious upgrade.
Why Rats? Isn''t Mechwarrior also a MS franchise? It would seem natural to port as much of their gaming catalog to Xbox as possible....
I know I''d buy an XBOX version of Mechwarrior-my main complaint with Mech Assault was that there wasn''t much variety in the Mechs. Some customization would go a long way....
I think he was alluding to the fact that MS seems to be bound and determined to never release an actual Mechwarrior game again.

Ahh, I see.
I''m ready for another Mechwarrior. Mech Assault was fun if you don''t enjoy things like thinking.
Though I should add that I don''t want something quite as cartoon colorful as Mechwarrior 4 was this time around. More grit, less plastic, please.
It would seem that a mechwarrior game would be a no brainer. They made 4 iterations(not counting mercenaries for 2 and 4) so you would guess it sold well.
I would love to see a more complex mech sim as opposed to the arcadey mech assault. It would also be nice if it depended more on skill than the size of your mech(like in mechassault...of course you could sometimes do ok with a smaller mech, but over the course of a game it tended to favor the bigger mech)

If the fights were all one on one, I could win them hands down with the medium mech Bezial. Its dual gauss rifles are lethal.
Ive gotten quite far in the gauntlet with the kit fox or its counter part.
I still havent been able to beat the last mission even on easy. I think you have to fire, shield, fire, shield, etc and I think thats very lame game play.

True, but my PS2 runs Prince of Persia great and it''s hardware is not even as good as the Xbox. That''s all a matter of the games being optimized for whatever platform they are on, and since PC''s vary so much, and consoles do not vary at all, optimization for PC''s is much more difficult.
PC games have always looked better to me than console games, even Xbox games. The higher resolution and faster refresh rates on PC monitors just beat anything that any console/TV combination can put out. Also, games like Mechwarrior and Mech Assault I would much rather play with a keyboard and mouse as opposed to a controller, just because I feel like I have more control, and 32 or 64 players connected online makes PC games of this type more fun as well
What is the max on XBox live? 16?
Just curious though, what are your PC''s specs? I look at games like BF1942, Wolfenstein ET, and UT2003 and can''t imagine games like that running or looking near as good on an Xbox as they do on my pc, even as out of date as my pc is.

My main system is a lowball Compaq Presario 6400NX (AMD Althon 1800Xp, 384 RAM), to which I''ve added a Maxtor 80GB HD, a Radeon 7500, and an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard. The system is about 2 years old, and probably needs memory and videocard upgrades, and probably could use a CPU upgrade as well.
90% of games play on this system without issue, so I''m hesitant to do anything, especially since $100+ for a new video card doesn''t make sense when I can buy the game for the xbox.
My days of not taking you seriously have certainly come to a middle.
Whoa!

That little piece of penny arcade goodness is just too funny.
