Madden 10 (360) League Forming - 24 Teams Taken so far
A few of us that live in the same area bought Madden and were going to create a small league, but felt that it would be more fun to play against other GWJ folk than play against computer controlled opponents. Ideally we would like a full 32 team league, but we are looking for a minimum of 16 owners (at least 2 owners per division) before starting. I was looking at some forums and it seems that most leagues forming are using the below rules:
Settings and Rules:
Difficulty: All-Pro
Quarter Length: 7 minutes
Accelerated Clock: Off
Fantasy Draft: Off
Injuries: On
Fatigue: On
Weather: On
CPU Trading: Off
User Trading: All trades must be approved by the commissioner. Afterward if the majority do not approve, it will be overturned.
Free Agency will work as follows:
During the season- if you want to claim a player post the player name on the forum. Until the end of the week, any team can make a claim on this player. Before the next week begins, the commissioner will process the claim. The player with the worst record (or worst record from previous season) will get the player. Teams are limited to one free agent pick up per week.
Sim Schedule:
One week to play each game. If all games for the week are finished earlier than 7 days, the next week can be advanced earlier.
Other:
Poor sportsmanship is frowned upon. Typically meaning no going for it on 4th down on your side of the 50 unless down by more than 2 TD or in 4th quarter. No trashtalking. Be respectful (not that I have any concerns with this part when it comes to GWJ).

If the league isn't full, we will be accepting new owners throughout the season. It is my understanding that human/cpu controlled teams can be swapped at any time during the season.

I'm happy to try playing. I'd favor taking the Ravens, but I'm happy to take San Diego or Indy to put more people in those divisions if no one else is going to be in the AFC North.

I'll put you down as Ravens. As we approach 16 teams, we can see if people are willing to move around for balance per division or if people would prefer sticking with their teams and hoping more users will join during the year to fill it out.
Im pretty flexible on it really and wouldn't mind either way.

I'm in. Sign me up for the Steelers since I cannot be my hometown Pats. I currently live smack dab in the middle of steelers/eagles/giants territory. Oddly the steelers are the only ones left of that trio. Which is fine with me since i don't like the giants too much and would rather jab myself in the danglies before ever associating myself with any pro team from Philly.

Whoa: According to Ryan Ferwerda's Twitter stream, the default speed for on-line games has been changed to SLOW.
Now, I didn't know who he was before today, but it sounds like he's part of the development team...
EDIT: Oh, wait...interesting. The change only applies to human v. human games. The human v. CPU games for on-line franchise are still at NORMAL speed until they get a patch out.

...happened to me as well and hence, my hesitation. For polling purposes, you can count me in because, if the league happens (within the parameters of Bean's original post), I'll get the game. If it doesn't, it doesn't really matter anyway.
