Yeah.. so pretty much Battle.Net will probably become another "portal" type device that will either be similar to Steam in terms of community and handling all of Blizzard and probably eventually Activision games.

It's not Blizzard anymore, it's Activision. You can tell because they're not including LAN play in Starcraft 2.

This is assuming "Blizzard can do no wrong" ? I think Blizzard feels like they missed the bus when Steam came out and want to compete with battle.net 2.0. I have yet to see anything happening at Blizzard that makes me think Activision has anything to do with their decisions.
