I'm chuffed that there's a Katamari coming to PS3, even though it looks like the only thing new is the graphical style (even that's not hugely different). Who cares though? Gimme rehashed levels with that quirky music and I will give you my credit card details! I miss you Katamari!

I can barely contain my lack of enthusiasm.

The PSP's "Me and My Katamri" totally passed me by. I didn't even know there was a Katamari game for the PSP until my wife asked a month ago. I got it used online for 14 bucks, and now my wife is enjoying my PSP.

Also, did I mention VYPER DRIVE!!!?

I couldn't agree with you more! (After playing a few hours of this game, do you also scope the rooms in your house, sizing up objects for maximum rollupability? I've also done it in the car...)

There's so much potential for monthly DLC for the Katamari games; if they released, say, a world a month, I would gleefully skimp on the food budget so I could plug money into microsoft points and not regret it. Unfortunately, they failed at their last attempt at DLC for Beautiful Katamari, so this probably won't ever happen. Here's hoping they're smarter about it in the next incarnation of the game.

I really loved We Love Katamari on the PS2 (the original was never released in Europe), but the 360 incarnation just didn't do it for me. It was missing the quirkiness, the music wasn't as good and the scenarios were on the boring side. I don't have high hopes for the new PS3 version, although I will certainly check it out and hope to fall in love all over again. Haven't checked the PSP version, maybe I should.

I loved the original and its sequel on PS2, if they do exactly the same thing on PS3 I'm happy

Add my name to the list of people waiting for this title. It was supposed to come out early this year, according to Amazon, but then it got "cancelled" and now it's back again with a 9/30/09 release date.

Here's hoping.

I just want a level that takes place at the beach.

You could roll up a bunch of sand till it begins to fall off like powder, then roll into the ocean to pack it down, and roll up more sand! Repeat until you have a gigantic sandball!

NOTE: Not a doodle bug.

A Katamari ball was mentioned by Chris Remo on this weeks conference call, it's not only us!

My yearning for Katamari increased ten-fold too.

I'm there with you. I've been going to my local game store and resisting the Greatest Hits copies of We Love Katamari. I want to play it, but it will look so awful.

Katamari has always looked awful-- the graphics are intentionally blocky and grainy. That's part of the charm.

Don't let graphics ruin your enjoyment of WLK. It's probably the best game in the series so far (as much as I love the PSP version, the game does handle better with analog sticks) and it's so cheap now.

It doesn't look awful. I think the graphical style really holds up, it's so colorful and intentionally blocky, sort of in the way that the best 16bit era graphics still rock (A Link To The Past, anyone?).

Agreed, looks horrible on an HDTV... until I got my component cables for my PS2. Even though the game doesn't run at 480p, those cables made a world of difference with my PS2.

Completely agree. And not to mention that the King of all Cosmos went from being a self-obsessed, quirky narcissist to being downright arrogant and mean. Just that little difference ruined the playful feeling of the first too games, which I still regularly play along with my son.

It also doesn't really control as well with the offset analog sticks, for me at least. I still play the hell out of Me and My Katamari on my PSP. I'm definitely gonna pick this one up.

Okay, this very well might be the reason I'll get a PS3. The Katamari series is love. And this might be the soul reason I'll get a PSP....

Well, okay, not the only reason but one of many.
