I wasn't psyched, but now I am...
Can't wait for Rocktober 13th
I will open one of my six mouths, and sing the song that ends the Earth. - Penny Arcade
I didn't enjoy it. It went from lap

I actually had a little daydream about this game:
Cue boss battle... GH3 style! Eddie and a Giant hooded Demon Boss face off. Dialogs have been shouted, challenges issued, and Eddie readies his jump with the axe. The hooded boss moves to one side of the screen, and while Eddie winds up with his axe a pair of fretboards pop into existence between them. The boss whips out a little plastic guitar and starts playing a killer guitar solo on a chrome + spike fretboard. The notes falling from his fretboard are a ghostly goth style and explode into bloody chunks as they are cleared. Lightning arcs into the little plastic guitar. Eddie's turn.
Eddie looks down at his feet and sees a little plastic guitar. Notes start coming down his fretboard (a plain, brightly colored thing. Maybe with unicorns) and plink away as he utterly fails to conform to the challenge. His brow lowers and he stares at the demon boss with that classic Jack Black stare (the expression from the first trailer when he jumps into the roadster and floors it). The demon starts to explain: It's easy! It's like you're playing a real guitar you just strum this thing and push the...
As the demon tries to explain, Eddie moves towards the Demon's fretboard, suspended at the front of the screen... as he moves closer the perspective reveals that the fretboard is about the size and shape of a sword. He grasps the demon fretboard and proceeds to beat down the boss while the boss frantically screams "StarPower! STARPOWER! Overdrive?" Eddie's score, which had been flashing red, goes up and the multiplier advances with every hit on the demon.
Now THAT is metal.
Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.
Okay, I'm starting to get concerned by the lack of a little box in the corner of these press releases that has the letters "PC" in it.
I'm really, really excited for this game.
My only worry is that people who aren't metal fans are going to dismiss the game, and metal fans who don't know Tim Schafer's style and pick it up might complain they didn't get what they expected.
I avoid online multiplayer because my brain still works.
It's not announced for PC yet =(

It's a downright tragedy.
Oh wow, they took the cheesy rock station "rocktober" and are using it for marketing this game? Well, I guess it fits!
Can you fly, Bobby?
Since this is now EA, and I really want to play it on PC, I have a question: with games like Mirror's Edge or Mass Effect, the PC versions came out 3-9 months after the console versions...but were they announced from the get-go? I have a hard time believing a Schafer game won't make it on PC, but what has been EA's strategy in the past?

Awesome trailer indeed. Getting Gravelly Voiced Trailer Man was an excellent move on their part. I really want Doublefine and Shaefer to finally get the success from this game that they so richly deserve.
(Incidentally, you can see him in this trailer for an old Jerry Seinfeld movie called Comedian )

I'm in the "not metal fan" category, but I am a fan of awesomeness. And this, indeed, looks filled with awesomeness.

Unsound Methods: This week, visiting Alabama and Neil Gaiman.
Mass Effect was published by Microsoft originally, so that's a hard one to go by. However, EA has been the same as Capcom, mentioning the PC version at the exact same time and only mentioning that it will be released at a different date somewhat near release.
Eh, this feels like a console game anyways to me.

The official word on the PC version is:
Like the time that precedes words, there are colors but no rules
Well I'll stop paying attention to this until a PC version is announced

Not being excited about a Tim Schafer game is grounds for site expulsion.
I admit, originally looking at small Psychonauts screenshots and learning that it was a platformer, I had a moment of weakness, a moment of doubt.
I've learned to never, ever doubt Saint Tim ever again.

Really? Do you not have a PS3 or 360? Or is this like a statement >_>
I understand if someone doesn't have a console, but this looks like a console game through and through. I'm not sure what the big deal is.

If you liked Tim Schafer as much as you claim, buying a 360 would be an easy decision.

I have a hard time believing that you can't justify a console purchase. There a plenty of top shelf games on both platforms this is coming too that aren't on PC that would make the purchase more then worth it.

Oh, I can justify it, just not afford it. Steam has a nasty way of making it impossible for me to save my gaming money.

Hey, let's not turn this fine thread into a series of degenerate low-lives trying to force their deviant lifestyle on people who live the path of righteousness and virtue.

Not so sure why you are trying to convince people to buy consoles, you don't work for Sony or Microsoft, do you?
I like to actually own my games, so buying a disc for consoles is an easy decision.

These days, with ubiquitous 360 gamepad support on PC, I don't think that notion is really meaningful any longer.
I agree with the "there's plenty of games to justify the purchase" notion, but not everyone's financial situation is conducive to making $300-400 (before games, accessories, etc) impulse purchases.
I'm not in that situation, but if I was, or maybe if I was a student packed into a tiny dorm or something, I would just be maintaining a gaming-level PC.

My point was that saving up the several hundred dollars required to buy a console is not easy with all the awesome $10-$20 deals Steam has been having.
