Dean's primordial yell
For those of you without a morning radio show, you may have missed Dean, after coming in an abysmal third in Iowa, screaming in what I have best heard described as a cross between a growl of rage and a gay guy who just got scared by a mouse.
Click on "Howard Goes Mental" to hear.
This sound was even funnier when you heard the whole clip, as a hoarse Howard yelled out the worst concession speech ever, listing off the home states of his opponents as places where he would inevitably clean up.
Howie, if you don't get the nomination, I will miss you... ![]()

This cracked me up too. I don''t know why some people think that screaming == passion.

YAAAAARRRHHHH!!!
I expected him to break into James Brown''s Living in America.

I saw that clip, and he looked kinda scary.

Unfortunately, the Democrats in Iowa figured out what a disaster Dean would be. Her''s hoping the rest of the nation doesn''t wise up until it''s too late.

What''s the matter Ral, afraid Dean is the only one the Republicans can beat?

I don''t know what made me wince more. Dean''s screech or Kerry saying, ""Thanks for making me the comeback Kerry."" So cheesy...

Not at all, but Dean would have been a fun one...
Seriously though - the State of the Union reminded me just how much more weighty Bush is than the sniping pack of weasels running against him...

Like when he knocked the water over? That was throwing his weight around.

Is weighty the new euphamism for ""dense""? I''m lost.

I could just click that all day...
I need to download that scream and assign it to some Windows events, or maybe replace some wav files in Civ2.
Amen to that. It''s this strange mix of hilarious and frightening... I love that flash animation on Rush''s site.
What, one bullying weasel as opposed to a bunch of ratty weasels?
If by dense you mean eloquent, confident, and consistent, then yes.
If there''s anything that watching the Democratic primaries has shown me, it''s that the truly scary people who think only in black and white terms and say stupid things are Howard Dean and Wesley Clark. At least Bush has a moral compass that guides him, whereas Dean and Clark will govern by whatever trendy study or poll comes out that day.

Well I never got my hopes up too high that Dean would survive New Hampshire. Lord knows I worked my ass off last year trying to get him support. The Democrats are too smart to vote for him. If a whacko liberal like Dean can''t take Iowa he''s done for.
What I don''t understand is General Clark. He is a General. In the military. He used bombs to kill people. In a war that was not supported by the United Nations. Why are uberliberals like Michael Moore (who blasted the Bosnian war in his movie) and Madonna supporting him?
It''s like a joke. Let''s see if we can trick the liberals. We''ll select a General of a bombing campaign of a war that was not support by the United Nations. Ok, now he has to have testified in favor of overthrowing Saddam Hussein. He has to be on record of praising George Bush on numerous occasions during his presidency. And finally....he has to be a registered Republican who has never voted for a Democrat.
When I see pacifist college kids supporting a General for the presidency, I know there exists no thought process in their decision making.
I'm bringing sexy back!
Let me preface my comments by stating this: I can''t stand Dean, and I haven''t made up my mind on Clark yet (probably because he can''t pick a view and stick with it...).
I still have a hard time believing how anyone can apply these words (well, particularly the ""eloquent"" one) to Bush.
Bush?
Again, if there''s anyone who seems to only think in black and white, it''s Bush.
I''ve made no pretenses against my view that Bush is a poor president. While he''s not an opportunist in the sense that Dean is (changing his stances to keep the most votes), he''s used 9/11 as an opportunity/excuse for too much. Which, as I''ve stated before, is a shame, and an insult to the memory of those who lost their lives in that tragedy.
Should we be more secure? Yes. Should we sacrifice the very ideals upon which America was built in order to get that security? No, because what then are we protecting?
*edit for me and my stupid formatting errors*
See, when I read that, I think you figure that Bush had this ""Agenda"" all along, and then saw 9/11 as an ''A-ha!'' moment where he could play on people to get his ""Agenda"" implemented. Which I don''t think is true at all.
Bush has done too much. No question. Some of his attempts to make the country better have either been misguided or wrong. He has sponsered some ideas as a way of pandering to voters for re-election. But has he got some secret ""Agenda"" that he is manipulating the memory of 9/11 to advance? Not a chance.

I started my own blog so when I feel the need to make an ass out of myself, I won't have as far to go.
The ''Pretty Fly for a Dean Guy'' remix would have been my favorite if it was longer. I also highly recommend the ''Dean goes to Kokomo'' remix. The lyrics in the Ironman remix are especially hilarious after listening to him rant.

I know, you all probably think I''m looney. Hell, maybe I am.
But this is one where I''ll have to simply acknowledge that we''re going to disagree on this point.
