WoW account wierdness (nothing to see here)
Thursday, April 9th, 2009 - 11:08am
I was just thinking it must be about time to renew my WoW subscription. I don't have it set to auto-rebill me, as I only keep one MMO subscription going at a time and I like to jump around. Anyway, that's beside the point.
I logged into the account management website, and found this:

...which is weird, because I've been playing all day (today is the 9th April). Have we all been credited some free time? Or am I just lucky? I had a look on the official forums but couldn't find anything. I've checked my online banking, and a WoW payment isn't showing, either. So weird.
EDIT: tried to call the account support helpline, but they are so busy they are not accepting new callers into the queue.

Bliz had mentioned a couple months ago when lag was extremely bad on all servers that current subscribers would receive 3 free days of gameplay. I suspect that it would be applied after your next expiration date.
Possibly this be it?...

Finally got through on the phone, and it's quite mundane. Turns out I didn't cancel my sub after all, and they were going to take a payment yesterday, but there's a hold up with some EU banks and everyone affected has been credited a "buffer" of two days. This has happened in the past, but never with my bank before.
