WoW: Predict the Future!
Question 1: what do you predict will be the next raid in 3.2?
Question 2: what do you predict will be the next expansion?
For 3.2, I'm betting on a troll instance. I'd give my left butt cheek to see Grim Batol (Neltharion) or have them open up Gilneas, but my money's on Zul'Drak finding 4 random animal gods and trying to infuse something with their power. There's a lot of groundwork laid for yet more troll shenanigans, and there's a lot of wasted space over in Zul'Drak for exploitation. Gosh I hope I'm wrong.
My money's still on the Maelstrom for the next expansion. Between Kil'Jaeden getting bushwhacked and our messing around with Titan stuff, I'm betting Medivh comes back to meddle with crap, Sargeras is awakened, and tries to hook up with Azshara and Team Naga again.

With their talk of the "trilogy" of major quest updates to WotLK, I expect 3.2 to be part 3, the big Arthas patch, with the headline raid being that of the Frozen Throne itself.
For the next expansion, I also expect it to be the rumored Maelstrom expansion. That or the oft-rumored Emerald Dream expansion, though I don't know how they'd handle that for all the non-druids.

Hmm, I always took that to mean that they would be going up to 3.3, which would be the big Arthas patch, so 3.2 would be something else.
Anyway, I'm not familiar enough with the lore to be taking guesses here; I'll be happy as long as it's pretty and fun.

I think if they wanna go with the Titans lore, Uldum is up for 3.2. It's about time they told us what exactly excaped from there, and we know it's something really really good, or really really bad. It could have to do with the origins of the Titans, mainly the ones we have been dealing with in Storm Peaks. That's just my guess.
Next expansion, I heard something about people waiting for the Emerald Dream/Nightmare, but that's really the extent of my Warcraft lore beyond what they've already released.
Kirin Tor magic, Crystalsong Forest, The Silver Covenant for alliance and those other guys for the Horde. I'm sure they can do something with that.
EDIT: With respect to 3.2 being Arthas, I think their original goal was to do that as 3.3 to go along with them wanting people to see more content. Ideally, giving everyone a leg up to see Naxx right away, ICC (Icecrown Citadel) would be equivalent to SWP for what's left. We're dealing with with "Mag/Kara" right now in Naxx, and Ulduar is like the SSC/TK. Meaning either Arthas is part of the BT/MH, or the final event. I'm hoping he's the final event since I found the Kil'jaeden thing a little anti-climatic in TBC.

Ah, good points. Ok, 3.3 will be Arthas in all likelihood.
I'm not really sure what they'll do with 3.2 then.

Yeah I believe Arthas will be the final boss of Wrath.
3.2: I'll say a Dragon-oriented instance in Wetlands or Hinterlands.
Next expansion: Maelstrom, although I hate the idea. I hate the idea of Emerald Dream, too.

me too, honestly. I'm worried that instances in the maelstrom will look more like Bioshock and Emerald dream will look like those janky weird dream sequences from Max Payne.

I don't hate either expansion idea, but what I'd personally rather see is whatever continent is over on the other side of the world where the Pandaren come from.

I think you'll be waiting for 4.0 for that one
Most likely chance of a new race & class for that expansion.

3.2 will be when they nerf [fill in the name of the class you are currently playing here]
How many of you will stick around for a *third* expansion?
I like to walk around it/And I'm paid to stand around it/Public witness seen it all
To be quite honest the model of the Dreamwalker set was about 60% of the reason I stuck around for Lich King. It looks awesome.
As my yard slowly un freezes and I can stand outside in sandals again, sipping a dry IPA and watching the flowers push through the old mulch, it's becoming more and more of an effort to even log in.

I'll probably be playing WoW until they don't release expansions anymore. Even if it gets to where the guild dies and I'm just subbing up to play through new expansion content and then letting my sub lapse for a while.

If Blizzard follows the 4 major patches that were in BC...
3.2 - Trolls, as mentioned.
3.3 - Another dragon instance + some PvP thing.
3.4 - Arthas. This will be the last one before the next expansion.
4.0 - Expansion - Maelstrom, Emerald Dream will be a raid or zone in it.
I'd like to see a raid done in the style of Azol'Nerjub and Old Kingdom - the art this is awesome for as small as the dungeons are.
Me most likely - I like the game play, art, and exploration.

There ARE rumors about turning Azjol'nerub into a full fledged raid, although those may partially be spurred by the fact fans are mad a lore figure as important as A'Nuba'Rak (murdered the spelling) was reduced to a 5 man encounter.
That aside, I love your idea, sir, and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
I'd like to see a release with a few more "open world" encounters, like the green dragons of Azeroth, or DOom Lord Kazzak.
The Michigan Beer Blog: Drinking in (and above) the Mitten
I wasn't so much disappointed that the Nerubians were "reduced" to 5-man instances as I was that what should have been a huge, massive, underground region was reduced to two short instances and no "overworld" region.
Azjol-Nerub was, from what I understood of Warcraft's lore, supposed to be a sprawling warren of caverns and a massive underground city tunneled throughout Northrend by the Nerubians. That left me expecting a full-on region in the expansion for Azjol-Nerub, and instead we got a little looping tunnel and two fairly small instances.
Gorgeous instances, sure, two of my favorites in the game now, but far less grand for content than what I was expecting.
Very little about Wrath of the Lich King let me down. Blizzard dropping the ball on Azjol-Nerub like that was my primary disappointment.

Yeah, alot of the stuff Blizzard did definitely made up for this one little oversight. Hopefully the rumors are true though and we could be looking at a "Kingdom of Anub'Arak" raid. Considering they have some neutral NPCs already out front, it's possible this could be a new faction as well. Since Nerubians are undead, there's no reason to suspect that Anub'Arak is actually gone for good
My guess is that he underestimated the Alliance/Horde and left himself unprepared. Now he's resurrecting in the depths of his Kingdom and preparing to show his true power. Most undead lore has a source of power in a phylactory, Frostmourne or other, and I don't remember destroying anything like that just yet.

My predictions:
Next expansion is Maelstrom, with Naga and Murlocks as playable races... GLMRGLMR RRLGGG...
Hero class will be some kind of uber-druid, healing and DPS focused (to complement DK's tank/DPS focus), with Emerald Dream being their starting zone.
Archdruid has been said to be one of the "ideas" for a hero class, and it's mentioned a helluva lot more than things like demon hunter or mountain king.
The Michigan Beer Blog: Drinking in (and above) the Mitten
Mountain King? That's a CLASS? How many freaking kings can there BE? XD

Dude l2p WC3.
Mountain Kings were awesome.
XBox Live Gamertag: Warlockbert
mountain king was supposed to be a paladin hero class, back when blizzard was going to implement hero classes as extensions of the other classes. He was a dual weilding monster.
The Michigan Beer Blog: Drinking in (and above) the Mitten
Paladin dual wielding? I might be able to get behind that.

If they put the mountain king class into the game, I might be forced to abandon Thurgarn!

If they do the Emerald Dream, it could be amazing. Dream worlds are infinitely malleable, and they could have fun with phasing. You could have zones that changed character based on events in the 'real world' (as much as you can use that phrase with WoW, anyway), or could be adventuring through individual dreamers' memories or nightmares. And you could, potentially, zone in through any sleeping character in the main world.
Outland would have made a LOT more sense as a dream world.
An Emerald Dream expansion could also really suck, if they don't handle it well.
New name for druids in the Emerald Dream: "Tour Guides".

There is a quest or two in WoW now that take(s) you into the Emerald Dream. When you go there, it's just the same as normal Azeroth, but with buttloads of green fog that keeps you from seeing more than ten feet.
I'm sure if they ever did an expansion on it, they would retcon it to be as interesting as Malor says - which raises the question of why it is so lame and unimaginative in the existing quest(s)? Resources? Fine, don't take us there at all if you can't do it any justice.

I really hope that "arch druid" isn't the new hero class. I'll accept that it'll likely be a dps/healer that can either DPS or heal in any of its three trees, but arch druid just seems lame.
That said I can't think of anything based in lore that'd be okay. dryad, maybe.
The Michigan Beer Blog: Drinking in (and above) the Mitten
I don't see Archdruid happening because it sounds too much 'super druid', and they're not going to want to undermine an existing class like that. Keeper of the Grove might work if they want something in that direction, but I think a vrykul-style runecaster is more likely.

Personally I hope they have something in the form of a demon hunter from warcraft 3 as the next hero class.

I'd love to see a free expansion that fully rendered the old lands and allowed for level 90 flying mounts that could traverse all zones in Azeroth. Plus, allow shipbuilding and naval combat. Think of the new set of skills we'd need: deep-sea diving, carpentry, shipwright, navigation -including treasure map deciphering. New pirate factions, underwater instances, pretty shiny seahorse mounts (for the elf types), and of course, Crab People.

That's a tall order...but one I fully endorse because naval combat, if done right, would be amazing.
