Seems to have received pretty average scores across the board. The original didn't fare significantly better in reviews, though, so I can only assume if you liked the original you'll enjoy this as well The PC version has been out for awhile now but I'm holding out for the console versions hopefully coming out in March. Playing this on my couch will be far more enjoyable than at my PC and same-screen coop means my wife will want to get in on the action, too. The original Sacred is the only game she's ever played more than I have!
Would love to hear impressions from folks playing the PC version. I am a little concerned that the console versions are not going to turn out that well...
That is, perhaps, the coolest game video I've ever seen! Then again, perhaps, it may not be. It does make me want Brutal Legend more than ever, though.
The campy style and MMOesque questing really turned me off. I bought it through Steam hoping it would suck me in as much as Titan Quest, and it never clicked for me. Lots of loot, but the mixed genres (plasma guns and crossbows if I remember correctly) and open MMO world that wasn't very easy to move around in, finally wore me down and I uninstalled it. I never played the original so I can't compare them.

I was a little wary of it to begin with, and it took a little while to "click", but I'm absolutely loving it now.
Its absolutely HUGE as well so I'm not actually all that far into it (only just reaching the first big elf town and I've already put in a LOT of hours into it). Very campy and colourful as well, "true" diablo fans would hate it with a passion It's a great game to just pop in for an hour or so, do some quests and pop out again.
One niggle...there doesn't seem to be a "stand in place and fire" key. Given I'm playing a ranged class (Dryad) this can get a little annoying. Voice acting is pretty bad as well.
Apparently the last patch added another large island somewhere as well, but I doubt I'm in any position to explore it yet.
I want to like it as I really enjoyed the first but it is a real system hog and if I have to wade through anymore kobolds I'm gonna lose it. I'll probably give it another shot once I get a rig that can handle it decently.

No kidding; I'm surprised we really haven't had any coop dungeon crawlers yet this generation. My wife and I loved Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath and Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes. Sacred 2 will support two player same-screen coop on the consoles so once it lands we'll finally have something to play.
I hear that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is still in the works. Another Dark Alliance would not be ignored however.

It takes a while to really click, but I've put around 16 hours into it so far and it says a lot that each hour has been even more entertaining than the hour before. If you liked Sacred but the finicky clicking and crummy itemization disappointed you (and you enjoyed the game otherwise), then Sacred 2 is right up your alley. They fixed my biggest complaints about the original and expanded upon its biggest strengths.

I believe Ctrl+Left-Button will fire without moving, although if you're using a blowpipe it can be hard to tell that you fire at all. I played a Dryad too and found ranged a decent challenge at the higher difficulties simply because of the sheer quantity of enemies they throw at you at once. I started surviving a lot more once I got the lizard mount and could outrun them easier.
The game would get more playtime from me if it had a pause button though...
I didn't care for the M:UA games because there was little loot, and you couldn't change the gear or how your characters looked. It was more like Gauntlet, or a top down brawler, and less like a Diablo clone. It's amazing how hard it seems for people to make a good Diablo clone.

Sacred 2 is a great game, it's refreshing to have a tongue in cheek entry to a traditionally dour genre.
But it is a bit of a machine killer, my PC flirts with the minimum requirements so as I get more enemies on screen it lags. There are also a few bugs, CTDs and lock ups happen occasionally but it has improved with patching.
I managed to get about 10 hours in despite problems, and I can't wait to upgrade so I can try it again.
I literally fell asleep trying to play this game...I think Diablo 3 is going to be the only clickathon Action RPG that will be able to revive my interest in the genre, if it doesn't then all hope is lost for me.
"Yes, that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense."
So anyone who is done with it looking to get rid of it? I loved Titan Quest, and I need a loot game to hold me over until Diablo III.
Did you play Divine Divinity?
Stupid name, great game.
I put a large amount of time into Divine Divinity. I just got a new machine, and I want to test it out on something a bit newer. However, I haven't seen it much below $50, and I won't pay that much for a game anymore.

Did the console release get delayed? I thought it was scheduled for 3/24, but my gamefly queue is suddenly showing 5/14. I didn't find anything about a delay with a quick search, but wondered if maybe you guys had heard differently.
I didn't like Sacred that much. I remember it having too much going on at once, kind of like those Diablo 2 mods that add too much stuff - like they talked about on the podcast this week.

I just got done putting two hours into the demo and really enjoyed it (Farscry will be pleased to hear this). I think I'm just waiting on this to hit a sale price before pulling the trigger.

Yeah, Darkstone was awesome. Campy, probably pretty mediocre single-player, but the multi was SO much fun. (The two-characters in single-player and lack of class lock-in makes for an epic game). I liked the original Sacred quite a bit, but I got hit with some pretty interesting bugs. (Like, I kept getting teleported to an island with a dragon, and no way out.). Still, I do want to try Sacred 2, but I don't have the budget for it at the moment.

I thought the DRM was received badly on this one. Wasnt it two installs/activations total or something very strict per retail copy? I could be remembering wrong.
I never finished Sacred 1, but I had great fun while playing it. If the 360 version ever surfaces, I'll probably pick it up on that platform.

Besides Titan Quest, it's pretty much the best Diablo-esque RPG out there. I didn't play the first one though so I'm not sure how it compares.
I got the game for free for attending the Showdown LAN party, but I never installed it. I'm not sure why it didn't interest me that much, maybe it has something to do with their marketing.
Tom Chick seemed to like it a lot, so I do intend to get to it someday though.

I dl'ed the demo to try it out and it doesn't run very well on my PC, so I am waiting for the console version to really dig into it.
I hope the co-op is good, and I hope it has couch co-op (I like this phrase) so that my wife and I can play. We loved the Champions of Norath games.
We need more games like Champions on the 360.

I don't think it sucked so much as it was a competent entry in a somewhat niche genre that arrived amongst tons of other stuff that blew people away.
