I had this post before that one but wasnt able to find it to properly *cough* it and since it wasnt moved to MMORPG i decided to start posting back on this one here.
Is there a release date for this yet? I remember hearing something about this being F2P, is that still the case?
Taken from the APB FAQ:
They didn't actually say it's F2P, just that it will not be using the usual monthly subscription model.
I personally think that they will be a normal box price and then some sort of micropayments.
Release date currently given as Spring 2010

When you can, you hit that like the fist of an angry god. It's not even for you anymore; you do it for us.
I won't spoil the really cool (in a fun over the top way) scene in this trailer, but I'm really glad that they are looking to make the most exciting multiplayer car chase gun fights seen yet.

Thank you for registering your interest in APB: All Points Bulletin. We’re happy to tell you that we are now inviting applications for beta testers! You have the chance to be one of the first people to visit San Paro and have “hands on” experience with the world of APB!
Just click on the link below to start our beta application process. Don’t worry, your personal information is safe, we will never pass it on to third parties. All the questions are aimed at making sure we get a broad cross section of players and the best possible selection for our beta testing process.
I had already been registered and everything since day 1 so not sure what this means but hopefully i'll get in at some point
I'm really interested in this game, especially if there's no subscription fee.
I'm a little worried about the whole reliance on players. Relying on the playerbase to create conflict (that is, relying on one group of players to resist another) is risky.

I've yet to see any game FPS or MMO that had a way create conflict end up being lacking in that department. Human nature being what it is it's never been a worry.

Have you ever been on an empty TF2 server and just run the flag over and over because there was no one around to stop you? That's my bigger concern.
Hopefully the NPCs can fight back or attack reasonably well on their own. That would add to the "sh*t, man, it's those vigilante assholes again! Let's get out of here!" vibe when the opposition does show up.

I think they've made a point of saying that this doesn't happen. They've said that if someone's chasing you, it's a player. If you're chasing someone, it's a player. So far no mention of what happens when there's no one chasing, or to chase.
That would be the part when you cry, post on the forums about how much the game sucks and you're quitting, and about thirty people all ask for your stuff?
If it's purely players... Yeah, I really don't know. Hunh.
Got the email yesterday. Almost missed it too, I just caught it today. Am downloading now, will probably start playing tonight. Name on there is WipEout, maybe we can meet online if anyone else is still "testing"

I'm in as Podunk. I have no idea what server it put me on--I just went with whatever they recommended. I played a little last Sunday, and boy do I suck.
Yeah I didn't get a chance to play last night, as when I posted I hadn't realized there was going to be a 12 hour wait while the game updated! Maybe tonight, around 10ish PST. My account name is WipEout, not sure if you have to make a different name for your character.
Ooo, very nice. I've really been looking forward to this one.

Finally found the thread again. (searching on this site is SUCH a pain)
Anyway...
Some in-game footage starts at the 4:30 mark

Actually I think there was a recent thread on APB beta registration in the Gaming forum section.
Anyway, more in-game footage:

Thanks! I managed to snag one. 6300 beta keys left on the site
I have an extra key for the EU beta. First person to PM me who hasn't just signed up gets it.
And I got another two keys for the EU beta. Want 'em? PM me.

I have one for the eu beta, fortunately playing from NA is an exercise in frustration.
