Disappointing that he didn't do the dance moves as well... and that he was lip-synching and forgetting/slurring his words.

Yeah, the fact that he couldn't lip sync his own song, is somewhat sad.

He probably had to do it eight times or so along the parade route. I like the announcer's explanation at the end; it's like he hadn't a clue what the hell he was talking about.

I got Rick Rolled at work. Head office sends us a CD we have to play as the store music for a month and it was one of them sometime last spring. No one else in the store had a clue. I tried to explain it to one guy and I got the eyebrow wtf you talking about look.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade unofficially Rick Rolled. The Internet phenomena demonstrated and "planned" in an official nationally televised function. It's not officially Rick Rolled unless people don't know it's going to happen and event organizers are running around attempting to stop it.

Wait, how do you slur words when you're lip syncing?

I watched the video and while he didn't appear entirely thrilled, I didn't see any big problems with his lip syncing.

It was the audience that got Rick Rolled, not the parade organizers.

Easy - you go to say the wrong word and quickly realise you're not saying the same thing as the song that's playing and instead slur the word you were going to sing into the one that should be sung.

Can you lip read? Well, i can't but it looked like he wasn't properly remembering the song.

If you had actually linked to the standard Rick Roll, then the world would probably have imploded into an Astley-based singularity.
