Rock Band Downloadable Content
I was about to post this to the Rock Band (1) thread so everyone's included, but since the DLC applies to both Rock Bands, I figured it made more sense to make a new thread for it.
Anyways, this week's announcement... Foo Fighters.
Hey everybody,I am very happy to announce here (before anywhere else) that next week's DLC offering will be the Foo Fighter's The Colour and the Shape album (one of my favorites). With “Everlong” already featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack, the DLC album will include the following tracks:
1. "Doll"
2. "Monkey Wrench"
3. "Hey, Johnny Park!"
4. "My Poor Brain”
5. "Wind Up"
6. "Up in Arms"
7. "My Hero"
8. "See You”
9. "Enough Space"
10. "February Stars”
11. "Walking After You”
12. “New Way Home”The Colour and the Shape will be available for download starting November 11, 2008, for the Xbox®360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and November 13, 2008, for the PS3. Pricing will be $19.99 (1600 Microsoft Points) for the album, or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track. All tracks are masters.
To discuss the week's DLC please visit the official thread in Community's Greatest Hits.
For all DLC song credits please go here.
And, as always, for awesome background information on our DLC and other articles please visit the shiny new Rock Band 'Zine

Good idea. It might be nice to have a full list of the DLC options somewhere. Is the official site good for that?

Look at rbdlc.com if you want DLC reviews and easily accessible youtube previews.
Look at the Scorehero Master Song List Spreadsheet if you just want raw information you can manipulate with excel.
Does that include the various package options?

That master list rocks! Thanks for the link.

My Hero is hard. But in a good way. The Colour and the Shape is the best DLC I've seen in a long time.

I'm pretty excited about The Killers content. Both Mr. Brightside and Smile Like You Mean It are automatic.
I felt -- I feel -- that Shawn, Rob and Julian were making out with the game, and as their friend I felt it was important to point out that they were making out with an ugly chick. - Cory Banks, keeping it real
I haven't fired up Rock Band in over a month. There's one heck of a backlog to get through in DLC when I finally get back to it..

Soundgarden... awww yeah. They're the perfect band for Rock Band -- I'll be snapping that up straight away.

Yea, Spoonman is a blast to play.

Yeah, i'm in for the Killers and Soundgarden definitely. They need to extend that transfer feature they used for the RB1 disc over to the GHWT disc, so I can consolidate my whole library into 1...

Oh man, Jesus Christ Pose is gonna be hella awesome to play.

I gonna get The Killers pack and the Soundgarden tracks day one.
No kiddin. I'd pay an extra 5 or 10 bucks to play the GHWT tracks in Rock Band.

I really wish they would include No Doubt's Beacon Street Collection. I guess anything from before they hit it big isn't cost effective

Also, the country stuff is confirmed:

I'm not a big country fan, so I won't be buying these... but I am really surprised that neither the Guitar Hero or Rock Band franchises have bothered to come up with a product that DOES appeal more to country music fans.
I mean, if we can get "Rock's the 80s" and the "Aerosmith" disc, but nothing for country fans? Maybe it's just that the creators don't respect (?) or know the genre... it just seems like a large market for exploitation.

As an aside, I'm glad to see Harmonix offering so much DLC... I just wish it was stuff I actually LIKED.

I was looking through the new releases tonight, and was about to laugh at the song HEADPHONES ON from some Nickelodeon show called iCarly (never seen it) when I saw it was free. So WTF, right? Free is free. I downloaded it and it's actually a decent fit for my current all-girl band.
So yes, mock me if you must. I care not.

I posted the preannouncement in the RB2 thread, and had 3/5 songs right. I figured they'd go something more upbeat for Brad Paisley, and I've never heard of that Brooks & Dunn song. I'll definitely be picking it up though

It's a good song by TV theme standards. But don't watch the show by yourself. You must have a child present or it will get weird real fast.
Monstroso? That's what this is about? He's king of the double cross. I mean, think about it. He's a lawyer and a super villain. It's like a shark with a grenade launcher on its head.
This will make a lot of folks happy...

Miranda Cosgrove?
She has the body of a 12 year old, and the head of a 35 year old. She;s creepy.
But I think she's closer to 16 or so.
