The requested Resistance 2 Co-op thread!

I'm expecting to have the game day 1 (due to gamefly). I know this and next month is looking very packed with gaming goodness. So Lets see if we can get a solid 7 more people first and then decide on a a time frame to play.

Being that there will be more then 8 of us owning the game I think we we will have to organize by squads.
I'll start up Mongoose squad and we will fill that roster then move on once that 8 is full then the next person can start their squad.

Mongoose:
1.) Devmani - medic
2.) Parallax Abstraction
3.) Lothar
4.)Amazingzoidberg
5.)jakeleg
6.)sithcundman
7.)landshark83
8.)

I'm in for sure! I plan to buy this day one so if people plan to co-op that day, I should be able to.

Same here, I am in

I will be getting it on tuesday

Damn you people and your day 1 purchase enabling.

Alright. I'll have it by the end of the week.

Since I'm not the best at shooters I'm guessing I'll be a medic.

I've been watching Devmani play this and it looks awesome. The medic class is very interesting.

I was thinking about this game, but I'm a firm believer that interest in it is going to absolutely disappear around here once Gears 2 and Left 4 Dead release.

I prefer the approach where everyone playing has the same abilities. My play-through of the first game was dominated by use of the Bulls-Eye while my partner was all about the Augur. When playing in a team against the computer, I'm less interested in balancing each others' strengths and weaknesses and more interested in just being able to play together. Our own innate differences will make our play styles different on their own.

I doubt it. They're very different kind of games. I see the co-op losing popularity after a while as it is a campaign but from what I've seen of the multi, I could see it becoming a staple for some.

Friend me up guys as I have pre-ordered this after watching some of the videos and reviews. I am a sucker for good co-op. My wallet is really hating me this week.

Gamefly should be shipping my copy tomorrow. Between this, Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Motorstorm 2, Gears 2, LBP, Midnight Club, etc. I have no clue when I'll be playing, but I'll have a copy.

Feel free to friend me up and shoot me invites if you see me on.

I'm in for coop as well, I should have the game on Tuesday.

Oooh 1 slot left for Squad mongoose who's gonna get it?!

Got my copy today and I'll jump in later tonight. If anyone wants to try some co-op, send me a msg.

My copy should be in tomorrow. Friend me up! PSN: StylezXP

I gave it a rent, hopefully coop will happen tomorrow!

Is there split-screen co-op and multiplayer?

I'll be on tomorrow as well if anyone wants to give it a go. PXAbstraction.

I'm also waiting on Gamefly. It will probably not arrive until Saturday though. Hopefully my SOCOM will get here around then too so I'll have a headset.

All the newly released reviews I've read are really praising the co-op mode. Should be fun.

I'll be picking up my copy tomorrow.

Waiting for Gamefly to get it to my house, it shipped yesterday so maybe today or friday I'll be on. There will be some crazy overlap with Gears 2. =/

Yes...well I think so. During the beta there was an option for a 2nd player to join in.

Good stuff, I'm sick of getting shafted by picking up multi games and only finding they don't have that feature!

Played the first couple of chapters of the campaign and some multiplayer last night. I'm very pleased so far. The campaign is a lot of fun and 60 player multi is a sight to behold (I didn't play in the beta). Controls are tight and the variety of weapons that made the first Resistance so wonderful is still there.

Multi does have a leveling system akin to CoD4, but it seems like the unlocks are largely cosmetic (different uniforms, accessories, etc.). You can choose any loadout of weapons from the beginning.

Looking forward to some 8 man co-op with Mongoose squad

Ok, so it sounds like most of us will have the game Friday, so do we want to start thinking about a Friday evening co-op extravaganza?

We will have to compete with Gears for Beers 2 so I'm guessing we should pick another night. At least I know I'll be playing Gears 2.

Ahhh, right that game.

I was thinking Saturdays would be good perhaps, I suppose we can drill down a time as well.

Yes, split-screen in both competitive multiplayer and co-op multiplayer. I saw folks using it in the beta based on the name in the lobby.

I created a clan in the game for anyone interested called Gamers With Jobs. I'm still figuring out how to send out invites but the clan is set to Recruiting so I believe is you search for it and try to join, I just approve you and you're in. Might make managing the events a little easier. Saturdays are good for me too, just not in the evening on this particular one.

Just fired up my copy and worked my way through the prologue and chapter 1. Haven't played a shooter in a while, so it was good to get used to the control scheme again.

I'm ready to go for some co-op whenever the opportunity might arise.

EDIT: Also I requested to join the GWJ clan.

Any word on when we want to try to play? I've been playing medic mainly, I'd prefer to keep using that.
