Hey did anyone see pictures of the little structure they are putting up for Obama? hehe, they are even bringing in a full size Air Force one prop!

I dunno, seems kinda silly to me too. What's wrong with just having a podium and a platform?
Besides, I think they're kinda overkilling this. When your guy's not only the first African-American nominee for a major party, but he's also accepting his nomination on the same day as the MLK "I have a dream" speech, I'd think using simple, understated decor for his speech would be more powerful and suggestive than an elaborate display.
Still, of all the things party conventions are known for, restraint is not on the list. And this is a very minor quibble of mine.

So the candidate everyone thinks has a chance of being assassinated is giving a speech on the anniversary of MLK's major speech, and in the format JFK accepted his nomination. Is he staying in RFKs suite sometime this week too?

I like the first picture, the proportions on the speech table (speech desk? I have no idea how it is called) makes me think of a point'n'click game cartoony backdrop. Yes, I have been playing too many videogames.
The lectern? It indeed looks like the decorators took a Day of the Tentancle art direction.

Its been crazy around here... Denver rush hour traffic is some of the worst Ive ever been in and Ive lived in Chicago, Phoenix and San Fransisco... So they decided to shut down 5 1/2 miles of the BIGGEST and only decent highway to get from the north side of town to the south side of town.
Was awesome.
