WoW BHA - Initial Raiding Agreement w/ UT

This is the initial raiding agreement reached between GWJ and UT. We're just in the dating stage of things, so please don't go picking out china patterns yet. Things may change, but this is where we've decided to start from.

The Loot rules should be familiar, as they are the ones we run with currently. I know we talked a lot about a more complex system for 25-toon raiding, but for now we're keeping it simple.

The super skinny version:

Raid Leader - in charge of tactical direction during raid
Assistant Raid Leader - Master Looter – in charge of distribution of Loot
Ideally, Raid Leader & Master Looter are from separate Guilds

Attendance:
10 slots each Guild
5 slots at Raid Leader's discretion (input from Assistant Raid Leader)

Loot:
Loot Master determines who is eligible to roll
Where an issue exists, Raid Leader & Master Looter discussion takes place in separate channel. Results told to the Raid after resolution between two people.
One Purple per unless item would be DE'd
Main Spec over Off Spec
Link current item to be eligible for roll
Gem Bags - end of run - top roll gets first pick (these count as purples)
Tokens & Special items count toward 1 purple count

well done Luna...very nicely worded. But, we might need to go a bit further in the "Gem Bag" area. Would it make sense to have anyone who didn't get anything to roll for gems? It gives everyone a shot at an upgrade with the new gems and keep interest in doing 25-mans.

The key to victory is to not suck as bad as the other side.

I'd say the gem bag items count as "Special items" so anyone who didn't get anything would be able to roll for them at the end of the run.

I'd also suggest lumping T5 and T6 special items (Nether Vortex, Hearts of Darkness, maybe even Marks of the Illidari) in with the gems, should they become an issue. And like Crazy mentioned, people who received a purple already take a backseat on the gems/other items.

Nice job on the raid agreement, thanks for working on this. I think it comes at the right time for GWJ.

There's one issue that needs to be cleared up and I know there are several schools of thought on the subject. Here's my opinion and an explanation to go along with it.

Healing assignments fall under "tactical direction". It's fine if a particular raid leader wants to delegate healing assignments to someone else, but when 2 sets of directions are being given, there's a miscommunication somewhere. My opinion is the raid leader should handle it like we've done in the past. Just seems counter-intuitive that tactical command have a whole subset of critical personnel that he/she has no control over and no idea what they'll be doing. I think the healing channel is best used to determine who will be responsible for which buffs and other minor details.

I know some people will disagree with me here, and that's fine. I'm not trying to debate the merits of class channels and class leaders, so please don't anyone come in here quoting me and needling me about it (I'm looking at you PigPen). I've had plenty of time to form this opinion and I've run raids both ways, I know what I prefer. Whatever the negotiators decide to do is fine with me, we just need a clarification in the agreement.

You're going to be swimming in HoD and marks. Normally, on a full BT clear, we get around 10-15 of them. Hyjal gives similar numbers.

Ideally, all of those should be banked and handed out at the raid leadership's discretion, especially because Hearts of Darkness are mainly for shadow resist for Mother Shahzraz, which everyone needs 365 SR for, buffed.

I'm happy to see this working out. I haven't been able to make one of the joint GWJ/UT 25-person raids yet, but look forward to it, especially is Dein is an example of the kind of people that are in UT.

Hopefully soon we can get back to SSC and pushing forward from there!

I like having the raid leader and loot leader ideally each from one of the guilds so we have representation from both in the raid leadership, and hopefully between that and following our general "be excellent and fair" loot rolling guidelines, it'll keep things friendly and fun.

As for the healing thing that Jut brought up, I'm pretty easygoing and will do whatever I'm told, or if I receive no tactical commands will figure out the best thing to do (or even try to organize the healing crew myself if need be). I'd prefer if the raid's tactical leader be in charge of assignments personally, as that keeps things running efficiently and with minimal confusion.

Hello GWJ!

Much thanks for a fun and very successful run last night. (Sorry about the cube-screwup wipe I caused.)

Now that we've got the first formal run out of the way (and I actually found time to create an account on here), I wanted to drop by and say "hi".

In case anyone wasn't clear on the general details of UT, we've been around since launch day. I, personally, have not. (I've been playing since very early 2006.) We've lost a lot of good folks to raiding guilds (some serious, some hardcore, and even some progression) which is why there was some paranoia about an alliance. Every alliance we've had resulted in some of our best-geared folks being poached and/or our players getting the short end of the stick when DKP was suddenly introduced. But enough of that kind of stuff.

We have a LOT of folks with alts. Since we didn't do much raiding pre-BC a lot of folks just rolled more toons at 60. (Darhne, for example, has 5 toons that I know of who are keyed for Kara, two of which are 999/1000 exalted with Violet Eye - but he's probably our worst alt-aholic.) Everyone in UT understands that they'll need to bring what's needed but, like Dein, they're all open to swapping in and out as the situation requires if their toon is geared up enough.

I can also tell you flat out that we're really looking forward to seeing what we can do together. I think Kadzeroth is already in communication with Luna - (or do you prefer RedJen?) about setting up regular T4 raids and also working out the kinks for future trips into the T5 content. I'll try to pop by here from time to time if I remember to. If you need to get ahold of us, feel free to drop by our forums or send folks in-game emails. (I'm usually on Dewdrinker or Shamallama, my hunter, if I'm in-game.)

Talk to you all soon.
