Everquest2 subscription problem/question (Is the trial still going on!?)

For my job, I tried logging into my ancient SWG/EQ2 Station account this past Friday to see if A) I remembered my account login and B) to demo the new Voice Chat feature. Also, the Conference Call chatter about it got me curious if it really was fixed up now.

I actually remembered my old account info and managed to jump right into Everquest 2 without resubscribing!? My character was still in the Queen Island training area but otherwise, it looks like I have a working account. Even today, Sunday, I can login and run around the world.

I'm not quite sure what the deal is... How am I able to access this stuff now with the Living Legend trial period over with? Did they charge a credit card I no longer have (like I said, this is an ancient account)? Is the Queen Island area a "free" zone where you don't have to be a paying subscriber? Did the magical gods of SOE bless me with a comp'd account because of my faithful allegance to them from the old days of Freeport, through the dusty deserts of Tatooine to this new semi-familiar world?

I have vague memories of reading about stuff like this on the official forums. You might be OK until you try zoning. At that point, your account might be locked until you resub.

Ahh Freeport...

Curse those Firebeetles!
