Buy Okami Again!
Monday, July 28th, 2008 - 8:57am
Looks like we won't be seeing Okami 2 until they sell enough of Okami 1, so for the love of Amaterasu if you're running low on Okamis, go buy some more!
I want to try that 8-bit version though...
NOTE: This is not a doodle bug.

Wasn't the team that actually made Okami all broken up anyway?
Everyone should buy the game anyway, especially if you have a Wii. It's another epic adventure to play on the platform.

Well, I'm already in for 2 copies (PS2 & Wii). Have not finished either, yet.
Get crackin', people.
Plan to be spontaneous... tomorrow

Yeah, that reminds me I should play my PS2 version again - and maybe finish it too, this time.
If you can't be a good example, at least be a horrible warning.
I keep meaning to buy it, but I already have a bit of a pile to go through. I'll probably end up buying it in the fall. If you don't game all that much, and you don't mind playing somewhat older games, there's an amazing collection of great games out there!

Yup although they mostly reformed as Platinum Studios, but considering the bad blood between the two groups (to the point that the Wii version doesn't even contain the credits of the original developers, and Capcom was shocked people found that to be a big deal), even if the game sold like gangbusters, it's almost a guarantee they would have nothing to do with an Okami II.

Okami is one of those games that's on the queue as soon as I can regularly find a wii in stores (read: when it's there long enough for me to budget for it). For the time being, however, I have enough distractions.

It seems unlikely that it will happen anytime soon. Independents are definitely struggling to get stock month to month, and rarely get what they ordered. Some of the big chains are already stockpiling for Christmas, exacerbating the problem.

I bought it, played it, loved it. If they don't want my money for a second game then so be it, but I don't need another one. I think the first one wrapped up nicely and am not sure how they would go about making a sequel/prequel.

Already picked it up for wii -- It's on my ever-increasing "to play" pile.
Well, I bought three copies, so I've held up my end of the deal.
It's high up on the "to buy for the Wii" list once I get some ducats soon.
God, I really wanna play the game, too...

Okami is one of those games everyone loved but I hated
well I didnt really HATE it but the first 2 hours were so effing long and unskippable and dull and hand holding that I just wrapped it up and sent it back. Pretty standard for a japanese game I guess.

I bought it for the PS2 and was planning to buy it for the Wii until I found out that the original credits had been removed. That's something I just can't support.
Besides, Okami doesn't need a sequel IMO. And if it does happen, it won't be done by Clover studios so what's the point?

Yeah I thought I missed something when the credits didn't roll when I finished the game this weekend.
Glad to see people still mention this game, I tried to post in another Okami thread right as my connection died this morning.
Okami should probably exist on its own unless capcom were to relinquish rights to the guys at Platinum Games. Which they should... I have loved the few games I've played by those guys, even if the Veiwtiful Joe games did kick my butt five kinds of sideways. oh and btw, for all the people still waiting on their box art, here's some downloadable 300 dpi CMYK color versions of the prints Capcom has yet to make good on sending out.

You're not alone man, I didn't play more than 20 minutes before I gave up on that book-long intro.
I know most people here loved it but I can totally see why it's not selling.
Personally I'd prefer another Viewtiful Joe =)

Well, the Wii version lets you skip the cutscenes. There's still a buttload of hand-holding at the beginning. Sometimes I wished that damned sprite would give me the 10 seconds I needed to solve the puzzle on my own before opening his big mouth. Know-it-all sidekicks. Argh!

Have it made for the 360, and I'll buy it right up.

Not gonna happen. And if you want inferior controls for your game, go play the PS2 version. The pointer makes ALL the difference. I've only seen people complain when they can't get the hang of the controls in the first part of the game. It also bear noting that if someone can't draw a straight line / circle on paper, what makes them think they can do it in the air? It may be a bit unforgiving for when you start and are drawing slow and wobly, but it works great once you realize a quick motion can be much more stable.
