Eldain A Firmorin, the guild that most current and former LOTRO playing GWJ'rs are in at long last downed the Balrog.

While Eldain was one of the first guilds to see the Balrog back in November of 07, our small size and casual nature has made defeating the creature difficult, but last night, the foul beast was dispatched.

At the scene of the crime.

Good job!

Is the sword there permanently? I'll have to swing by and take a peak one of these days.

i had the amazing experience of running this in preview with a bunch of devs (and an invulnerable character) and I can tell you, taking the damned thing down for realz would be something. Just WATCHING was a top 10 MMO experience.

Great job guys.

I know how tough it is and how hard you all worked.

So who finally completed the rift set?

This is why I play LOTRO and love being part of Eldain. Remember it not the destination, but the journey!

What's the kinship's full name, again, and someone I can contact for a potential invite? I'll be trying out LotRO again soon in preparation for Mines of Moria, and in case I stick around much, it'd be nice to have people to chat with when I do play. I tend to solo while levelling, but would love fun people to group with for the story quests when I do those. I tend to be very casual, even with my 70 in WoW I'm pretty easygoing with everything.

Honestly, this particular fight everything went pretty much according to plan. Our tank died right at 10k, but the elf-chick npc never came close to dying, one of the groups got off a full yellow conjunction and he dropped the last 10k in the blink of an eye. I actually managed to get the killing blow, and then much rejoicing was heard on Vent. We had been making steady progress on the fight, and it all just came together this weekend.

Those present voted to let have Cardrias complete his set.

The Champ got the weapon, which is one gigantic one handed hammer.

Sadly the orange drop was the pocket item and not Wig-Feld or the necklace and I forget who won that.

Even if you are a filthy skimmer (Kin name is in the first sentence of this thread) I will give you a link to our website http://eldain.com (note, the person responsible for the front page is starting a new internet start up company and so has not updated our portal page in quite awhile)

Also for those that might be thinking of returning or trying LOTRO. Now is a good time, Book 14 is out and is the lead into MoM.

So.....does Eldain a Firmion have a website/application procedure? Or should I just chase one of you guys down in-game?

Just an update. Two weeks, two kills.

One of our long term members, Selhedor finished his Rift set.

Weapon went to one of the minstrels.

I managed to snag the broken chain, (leads to a quest that gives everyone an extra 3 hope, and two awesome rings)

And honestly, I can't remember who won the orange drop, which I think was a melee-ish earring.
