OK, I get the "pink" DS bundle... but why on earth would Nintendo let TETRIS and CLUBHOUSE GAMES go out of print? Baffling.

Nintendo does this all of the time. They're strangely risk averse, at least when it comes to printing carts. I mean, they'll take a risk on a touch screen, motion controls, etc. but they won't print too many copies of a game, less they lose money on that. Many GBA games went out of print the same way. Advance Wars: Dual Strike is out of print. Many other DS games are out of print.

Yeah, this is nothing new. I had to go to ebay and ask a seller for pictures of the cart to be sure and get a legit copy of Advance Wars: Dual Strike.

Meteos is a game that's impossible to find. And not the Disney Meteos. Like the original. It was an amazing game.

I have all of them (save pink DS). Here in Europe rules are different I guess (or demand is not as high) and you can get all of the mentioned ones for decent prices.

Makes me feel slightly foolish for selling my copy of Tetris for $15 or so, but that was over a year ago.
Clubhouse games is great, but there have to be other collections of games that cover the same territory. Did CHG just get tagged as an "it" game through word of mouth?

I definitely encountered this problem when I got my DS in September of 2006. I heard about a number of "classic" games, both DS and GBA, but many were/are extremely difficult to track down. The number of DS owners continues to grow but it seems like the only carts that are consistently printed are Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros. If it's not one of those, it will be hard to find a copy.

Tetris is a bugger to find in the UK (it's Thursday, so we aren't part of Europe today); I had to get a US import from eBay for my mum. I've found that there are quite a lot of DS games, and GBA ones, that if you don't get at launch or just after, you're stuffed.

This is something I've been complaining about for some time. It's frustrating to think of millions of new DS users coming onto the scene ever year and then going to the store and seeing lots of copies of "Imagine: Babyz" or "Petz" when there should be games like Meteos, Kirby: Canvas Curse, Advance Wars: Dual Strike, etc. to show off the system.

Yeah, it seem "ordinary" for any DS game to become rare after a short while.

It annoys me as well. Nintendo-published games don't drop in price, they just disappear.

I recently had my DS stolen in a break-in, and have been looking to replace Kirby: Canvas Curse and Mario & Luigi: SSSaga (gba), but they can't be found new anywhere. I've also been looking for Metroid Prime: Hunters, new...no luck with that either.

In my mind, Clubhouse Games & Tetris should BOTH be "evergreen" titles that NEVER go out of stock. I mean, come on... TETRIS was the game that sould the entire gameboy franchise, and remains one of the most popular games of all time.

Meteos? I mean, I played it to death and now it's just sitting around... It's special?

I think I saw one at the local Gamestop, actually, used.

Mine went from the hospital when my wife was giving birth to our daughter. It was hell on wheels replacing the games. I invested in an R4 (I only have the games that I own now, if you see what I mean) to prevent losing the carts again.

I thought it was pretty special. One of my favorite DS games. Not an all-time classic, but one of the better games on the DS and pure Q! brilliance.

Once you got into that special mindset when you are all focused, the game becomes fantastic. Pure zen. Plus, it has a fabulous frantic multiplayer. We still fire it up from time to time with my brother and have fun.

Not impossible, just really annoyingly hard. When when you do, it's $30 used. Disgusting.

Exactly. If you do find it, it should be way cheaper.

I actually still have my original Tetris for the Gameboy. I use it in my GBColor now and still play it alot.

I have that setup too. I definitely won't be selling those. In fact, I'm gonna break them out now.

I might have an opportunity to play my DS outside the house once every 3 months or so, and never really feel like playing Tetris DS even though it's great. Maybe it's because the changes made it easy enough for me to actually beat? I'll never beat the "original" Tetris. Maybe that's part of its charm.

This is what's making me think I should pick it up even though I have the GBA version. I could wait, but who knows if I'll be able to find it then.

There was no GBA version of FF3, actually there was no non-Japanese version of FF3 until the DS version. You probably have FFVI in mind, which was released for the GBA last year. And which they should do a DS port of, by all means.

I took me two months to track down a copy of ClubHouse Games, and when I did, it ended up being about $30. Glad I did though - just what I wanted, but I was annoyed that such a standard issue game became so difficult to find.
