You should try one, there is a lot of gaming fun to be bought on the cheap these days. The only one I would consider really dated is Warcraft 1, but I dont remember that being in the Warcraft Battlechest.
My wife and I had so much fun with Starcraft on our LAN... (it was the reason we kept pc's alive long enough to have a LAN originally) we have two extra SC battlechests stored in a temperature controlled vault.... awaiting in pristine condition for a day when our little family will be old enough that we might go 2vs2 in LAN MP.

Given how much money WoW makes, it wouldn't surprise me if all future Blizzard games were sold in gold leaf boxes.

The fact that they're still selling the Diablo and Warcraft Battlechests for $39 each at Wal-Mart has astounded me. It's about time they have some kind of price drop on that. Shouldn't a game that age be around $14.99 or so, if that? It just defies the entire history of pc game pricing.

Blizzard defies a lot of things, though. They still sell immensely well. I'm pretty sure the Battlechests actually still hit the top 50 in PC sales as recently as 2006. I doubt the recent announcements of Starcraft II or Diablo III did much to lower those sales.

I have most of the Blizzard games, though I'll probably buy starcraft to replace my scratched copy.
Too bad you can't convert a WoW CD Key into a month of game time. I'd be all over that(provided it cost less than a month of WoW).

You can just punch in your CD-key for almost any Blizzard game into their online store to get a digital copy. And you only need the SC key for the SC+BW package.

Well, I own all of the battle chests already, except for the WoW one... It looks like there are 5 items, too. What else is there besides Warcraft 1 and 2?

Looks like they've got a diablo battlechest up now for 28 dollars. Only 2 dollars more at GoGamer, similar to the situation above.

So there are 3 lightning deals left and I'm pretty confident that one of them will be the SCBC. Anyone care to speculate what the other 2 will be?

It's a amazing how they can still charge $30 for their games and people still buy it. They are all great games with a long shelf life. Go Blizzard. If any company can be good enough to make their boxes gold, it's them.

Hmm, I'm not sure why they'd offer the WC3BC and WC3 as two of the deals, unless they're really trying to get rid of stock.
EDIT- I just went through the 'preview' text of the next three and think it will be:

only blizzard title I've ever played was starcraft. I enjoyed it for awhile. I think that would've been the only one I could play..because it only took like 16mb of ram
I could run it on a graphing calculator. ahaha
It was one of those small one-handed crossbows with 1/4" bolts. And though it's hard to tell, there are quite a few holes in that disk, including through the aluminum slider.
