Rogue Warrior on the PS3. Anyone else interested?
Friday, July 18th, 2008 - 10:55am
Does anybody know much about this game?
I am a HUGE fan of the books, and I'd be very interested in playing a shooter on which "The Sharkman of the Delta" was technical consultant.
Is this game on anyone elses radar?
EDIT: Title fixed, as requested by our mod overlord. ![]()

I was wondering what ever happened to this game. Once they announced it, it went so underground that at one point I though it was canceled.

I'm not ashamed to say that I've read his biography and several of the fiction books. My old roommate used to joke that he didn't write his own stuff and the other guy actually translated his dolphin clicks and whistles into stories.
This looks pretty cool.

I read his biography but none of the other books. I have to say the parachuting demonstration and subsquent profanity was just gold.
Kinda leery about the game though.

Where he pulled the chute even with the top of the mast? Ten years later and I still remember that part.

Could you fix that title please? It looks like crap and it makes no sense.

I believe so. Wasn't there like an entire paragraph quote that consisted of maybe 5 words that you could actually repeat in polite company?

Changed. Let me know if it still looks like blank.

It seems like this title is coming to everything, Consoles and PC. I guess it's back on the list!

Actually, most of the books consist of words not repeatable in polite company, but if I recall correctly the paragraph with the parachute actually had the author use the word "blank" in place of any profanity.
As in "Marcinko, you blanking blanker! Pull the blankety blank blanking cord!"
I could be wrong.
Anyway, I hope there's a training sequence in which you have to climb palm trees barefoot and make hats out of the leaves.
Regarding the books, they're all pretty good. The last one (Violence of Action) was written by Marcinko alone, and it's a good deal darker and more graphically violent than the Weisman collaborations. He's reportedly got another one coming out soon, which I look forward to reading.
I may end up buying this one just based on the IP if the reviewers don't completely pan it (I tend to like games that get solid sixes better than games that get nines or tens anyway).
It would be cool if the game did something to convey how hard a lot of the stuff the character is doing can be-- that's a big part of the books, where he explains in painstaking detail how difficult it is just to get to a target, let alone shoot at it.

Another request: What makes this game "a new type"?

We aim to please. Is it better now?

No, needs more sandwiches and possibly a monkey.
Naw, I'm just jokin' it's all right.
The idea of Bethedsa and Zombie's intrigues me. Too bad Zombie is the name of a developer rather than actually being a zombie.
