Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes Trailer 2
Apparently available now for $5? I don't have iTunes at work. Is this for serious?

Indeed for real: http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/07/song-summoner-s.html

Interesting, will this be for the mini and above, or just the touch and Iphone?

Wow... looking good. I might just have to buy another game for my iPod that I'll never play

That's too true. I have a few myself. Although I did play the living snot out of Peggle on my iPod. Talk about the perfect port!
I recently bought the Yahtzee game for the iPod, as we have been playing Yahtzee a lot at the bar I meet my friends. But over all, I rarely ever play games on my iPod, and I use it nearly every day.

Hey, the second song is from The World Ends with You.

My iTunes says ipod nano 3rd gen, ipod classic and ipod video 5th gen. I've already downloaded and am charging my ipod up now to check it out. It is NOT compatible with the iphone or itouch.

uh oh... another webcomic! Someone call "Yahtzee!"
Yes, I bought the game a few hours ago... played it for about 20 minutes (mostly just the intro) and saved before going out to the store. Not too bad for $5, all told... except the graphics are teeny tiny.

I've only had the chance to create a little more than a dozen characters before hockey and bed. I'll be playing on my commute this morning, though.

My wife just got me a 160GB Classic this weekend for a birthday present. I'll have to check this out.

Dammit. I told myself that I wasn't going to buy any ipod games, but I'm intrigued. And ugly.

I don't think I could stare at my tiny iPod screen long enough to make this worthwhile. However for travelling this would be fantastic.

I have about 4000 songs on my iPod, and it's kind of a chore to manually decide which songs to use... even songs you really like don't necessarily make good characters. I ended up just having the guy pick songs randomly and see what came up. I only got one "S" character, which I think came from a Pat Benetar song

Except that it really kills battery. I think I can only get about an hour and a half or two at the most from my 30 Gb 5th gen before needing to plug in. Aside from that, it's pretty neat.

I was thinking of that. Kind of makes it useless for travel unless going short distances.

Man... the pet shop boys "let to my own devices" created the best character I've ever seen. How odd.

Part of the problem I'm having with this game is that you're only allowed 16 characters in your active file. Now, when you create a character, you're at least given a rank (C, B, A, or S) to help decide which ones to keep... unfortunately, once you try and go through your deck and figure out which guy is worse that which other guy, they no longer show you the rank anywhere. I have something like 5-6 archers in my 16, and it seems like a herculean effort to figure out which one is better than the other.

Having the character is not worth having that filth on your ipod.

I seem to recall that a few years ago there was a game that involved scanning barcodes from products that generated a score, and that kids were running around supermarkets looking for increasingly outlandish products, hoping for that rare score.
With this game, are people going to be sticking bizarre and unexpected music on their ipods in the hope of an uber character? Is it worth the hit to your musical integrity to perform well at a game (for example, "Barbie Girl" coming out with the ultimate tank), or do you stick with your noobish character as it was spawned by "A Day In The Life?"
