Actually, woot-off or not is immaterial. Both woot-offs and regular woots only last as long as they have stock to sell. Woot-offs tend to go quicker because they're usually selling off stock that they couldn't sell out in a whole day.

Yeah, Woot sells a LOT of refurb stuff. I try to stay away from the more expensive refurbs, and take risks on the stuff that I know I won't miss too much if it breaks again. I can't imagine, though, Apple saying no, unless Applecare is different from other extended warranties. Most of the time, it's pure profit for them, and a valid serial number should be enough for them, although definitely research it first if it's important to you. I may be talking out of my ass here.
