MN GWJ quasi-annual meet & greet?

So any Goodjers in the Minnesota region looking to get together this year? I know its not quite a tradition yet, but I know Rainsmercy is pretty much tied up after the end of August, so I thought about it a bit earlier this year...
I know I am free most Saturday days, and evenings on Sundays (hell I'd rearrange my work schedule a bit to go)

I'm in with enough notice except for the last week of July. Dave & Buster's was a good spot.

This puts it before August, before Ren Fest (so Rainsmercy can attend possibly), after ChrisGwinns week, I'd be able to attend...
unless we want to do something midweek... none of these have ended with people going home in a cab so far, so the work week thing might not be such an issue...

I have a family gathering the weekend of the 27th but I could potentially make it depending on where and when we schedule this.

The only problems with Dave & Busters is that we all got lost and they had no fighting games. We can probably avoid repeating the first problem and the second may have changed.
I seem to remember that many/most of us were coming from Minneapolis proper or the south metro. Would it make more sense to look for something in the city (Gameworks?) or in the south metro?

Yeah, it did seem like D&B was out of the way for virtually everyone.
I _may_ be able to attend the 27th, though looking over the summer I'm not sure there's a good weekend where I can say for sure I have no conflicts. I'll certainly try to make it. I know the 3rd weekend of July and the weekend of Gencon are definitely out for me.

I would prefer the metro area, but D&B worked too. How's Gameworks for arcade goodness? Does anywhere this side of the Pacific have a decent selection anymore?

I am available the weekend of the 27th. I would prefer D&B(though I admit their games are limited). I try to avoid downtown Minneapolis like the plague, so if someone wouldn't mind picking me up/dropping me off in Shakopee, I'll pitch in gas money if we decided to do Gameworks instead. The other suggestion I have is maybe Valleyfair? Just an idea. the weekend of the 19/20 is right out, I am out of town.

Gameworks is a really short walk from the LRT stop, so you could always take the train downtown. Isn't there also some sort of game/bowling/bar thing at MoA?
I'm also up for park/restaurant/bar/whatever. I haven't been to Gameworks in years, so for all I know it's closed or all the games have been replaced with the arcade version of Barbie Dream Horse Adventures.

Rainsmercy you could just drive to the park and ride at the MoA or on 55 and take the light rail up near Gameworks...
it's $1.50 to ride the light rail on weekends. (No wonder it's loosing money like crazy)

Gameworks works, most of us are close, and the rest that don't like driving downtown can ride the LR to the hennepin station (honestly probably easier for parking anyway).
Bowling sounds like it might be fun as a Goodjer sport, and it will give Reaper a chance to hold Rains balls for him, thus keeping him from having to hold his hand.

I should warn you. I just finished up a bowling league and my average is now slightly above 100. Fear me! Of course, I've been bowling at the Bryant-Lake Bowl, and I don't know how I'll do with lanes that are actually flat and balls that don't have chunks missing from them.

I've missed out on other years, but I'm sure I can go this year. I don't know of any good arcades or whatever that exists in Minnesota anymore, so I'll let you guys decide. I heard the one at the Mall closed in recent years...

I think basically one company at the Mall owned all the restaurants on the 4th floor and got into some sort of dispute with the Mall and closed them all. I know that there are plans to put a Dave & Buster's there if and when they open up again.

I wish I could join in! It was great getting to meet several of the Chicago area goodjers (word up, yo!) and hope to get together with them again sometime, and would love to also get to meet up with some Minneapolis goodjers!
