Blood Bowl or How about some violent medieval fantasy with your football?
OMG, I am so getting this game!
"Cyanide Studios and Games Workshop have a bit of treat in store for fans of the Warhammer series. Blood Bowl offers two game modes; the first has real time, intense battles between blocking linemen and players leaping and dodging through opponents tackle zones, while powerful spells and dirty-trick special plays are unleashed across the pitch; all this creates a highly charged atmosphere. Of course, since it is sometimes difficult to keep an eye on the entire field at once, the game’s interface offers different tactical and strategic setups, while the AI is responsible for managing the players on the field.
The second game mode, an actual turn-based game, and fans of the original board game will be pleased because it is an exact replica of Games Workshop’s tabletop masterpiece. The original rules have been faithfully reproduced, and it contains all of the devices, strategies, play and rhythm of the original game."

Pure awesome.
Moo.
I've said it before, this game should scratch the itch that I've been left with ever since Mutant League Football. That itch is called "football with a sense of humor."
I hate you soo much Phil Collins!

this is what happens when a developer drops acid and plays some madden.
Except that the game is over 20 years old.

there.
...they haunt this dusty beach road in the skeletonframes of burned-out chevrolets...
I call the dwarf team!
"Three blokes go into a pub. One of them is kind of stupid, and the whole scene unfolds with a tedious inevitability." - Bill Bailey
Technically, shouldn't this be in the sports games forum?
This might even be something I might get on 2 different platforms, just so I have one portable. I've played the table top for a few years now, and the hardest part is just finding someone to play, let alone keep several involved enough to finish a league season. It will be nice to be able to pick up and play a game whenever I want to.
As long as it gives me the option to do my goblin toss, I'll be happy. Those sweet, sweet graphics are just a bonus as long as they can keep the gameplay true to the tabletop.
Moo.
No, *I* want the Dwarf Giants.
(Best named team. Ever.)

Since the dwarves are taken... Orcland raiders! Waaaagh!
Maybe technically, but I'd never venture to the sports section of the forum, but am actually interested in this game. The general nerd crossover appeal is huge. I think Ryan Scott's GFW preview put it best: "Football. Dumbest thing ever. Football with Orcs. Awesomest thing ever." (or something.. I'm paraphrasing).

So hell did freeze over after all; Welcome to Skjold!
this might just be a sports game I will enjoy
