XBL gamer tag and Windows Live link broken

Hello guys,

I waited for Microsoft to figure out what's wrong for me for almost 1 week now. Almost being ready to give up on them, I'd like to ask for you advise first:

The long and the short: My kid got an XBL marketplace card and applied points to his gamer tag. However, he couldn't actually buy anything with these points, because he's set up as a minor, and the Family Settings do not allow minors to purchase premium content by default. The problem began when I found that I cannot change the Family Settings.

The end result of this was that XBL Support asked me to remove and then recover my son's tag. And the issue I am having right now is that when try do to enter his tag and the email address to which it is registered, I get an error message "This Windows Live Id is not linked to your gamer tag", even though Microsoft confirm that it is totally linked. Last time I spoke them today, they said it will take them "up to 5 days" to check whether they can re-link the tag and the email, or link it to a new email altgether.

At this point I'd just create a new account altogether and had old one killed, but that would mean throwing away $20 worth of XBL points and some 3000 of my kids achievement points. What would you advise?

Thanks,
G.

Wait 5 days and then write an angry post when it's still not resolved.
