Too late to box orange?

Finally got my hands on the orange box yesterday. TF2 is awesome, hope to see you all on stans sometime. Is the population still going strong? Its been quite a while since release. And how the heck are you supposed to ubercharge two people at once?

Stan's is still going strong. Sometimes you need to wait for a spot to open. Welcome aboard.

I was asking myself that same question the other day.

Yea, come check out Stan's. Best place to find a good game with sane players. Well relatively sane in the Gamers With Jobs sense.

Are more of you playing this over the PC or 360?

There's a bit of delay after you stop ubercharging someone for the ubercharge to completely wear off. In that time you can charge someone else and effectively have two people ubercharged at once (for a short period of time).

As far as getting the achievement for that, I still haven't been able to do it after numerous attempts and following all the tips.

PC. We had 30 players on Stan's last night. Monday and Friday are the most popular nights and Saturday usually gets a good showing as well.

How to uber charge two people

1) Turn off one click medi-gun
2) have two people stand next to each other.
3) Pick first person, hit mouse 2 (they are ubered!)
4) Count 1, then let right mouse button up. point at other person hold down right mouse button.
5) Count 1, then let up right mouse button up, point at other person holtd down right mouse button.
6) Goto line 4 and repeat until uber is exhausted.

You got to go back and forth between the same two people until you reach the end of your uber. I say count one because the uber effect will last about 2 seconds after you let up.

Wow thanks Pharacon. That will be something I'll need to practice. The new achievements really gave some new life to the game. Not that it was in any need of it.

30 people? Geez. What's the server pop capacity?

32, but most maps weren't designed for 16 people on a side, so they end up stalemating. I had thought we had restricted it to 28, but apparently the limit got boosted up to 30?

No, actually. It's still 28, but for some reason it tends to let more in.

Is there a PS3 community of GWJ TF2ers, or am I SOL?

Is that enough TLAs for you?

Going to go out on a limb and say you're SOL. The community of GWJers with TF2 on the 360 was small enough, I don't think you'll find more than one or two with the PS3 version.

Oh well. I've still got Half Life 2 (and eps 1 and 2) and Portal. That's more than enough game for me.

Having played it on both the 360 and PC, TF2 is at best a shadow of itself on a console due to lack of usability and customization when dealing with server selection. Not sure about the number of options available on PS3 compared to 360 as far as server selection or anything along those lines, but most-likely the lack of PS3 owners that happened to also get the Orange Box on PS3 leaves for slim-pickings.

I'm working from home today to attend a family doctor appointment this afternoon and was hard at work until an hour ago. Had to make an emergency trip to the store for some family supplies. Got my supplies, got a coffee, and now find myself at home installing TFC2 PC.

EDIT: Oh FFS that was a blast! Where did that hour go?

I remember back in December, it took a little more than an hour to fill the server up. Now people are on before the event goes live.

Thanks for standin' still Wanker!

That was actually a lull in activity, and the server really hasn't fully recovered since then, although it's close. From release until December, there was a wait to get into the server EVERY NIGHT of the week, starting at 8:00 PM EST.

Yeah I must have misremembered. I do miss the days of being able to join a game every night.

Those are some of my fondest online gaming memories. TF2 was ridiculously fun to learn and add on to that my first experience with Goodjer multiplayer.

As I recall, you came into the mix several months after we all started, I don't think you were around during the beta and shortly after release.
