AFI just put out their top 10 movies in ten different categories. That is actually a good topic itself, but they also included this quiz based on the movies. I scored 31 out of 40. Not bad, but not great. Any takers?

27 out of 40. A lot of lucky guesses in there, too. This is why I need to see more classics.

It wasn't the quotes that got me, it was the "memorable performances in which genre?" I didn't do too bad on those, but they sure left me pondering for a while. I saw the "Klaatu barata nikto" quote and looked frantically for Army of Darkness for a moment before disappointment set in.

Does it use the same 40 questions for everyone or does it change them up any?
(Edit: same questions, it seems)

A Thin Man reference! Cool. I'll add it to nsmike's classics thread.

31/40. There were plenty of "classic" movies in there that I not only have not seen, but have never heard of.

My girlfriend and I watched the AFI Ten Top Ten special a couple of nights ago and I couldn't believe some of their choices Aladdin didn't make the Top 10 Animated Films but Shrek got #7?! And 2001: A Space Odyssey was best Sci-Fi over Star Wars? MORONS I SAY!

As for the quiz, 24/40. I too suck at quotes.

I wonder if they could've made the pictures a little more obnoxious. I particularly liked #7. We're only going to show you 1/16th of the picture at a time! If it's a trivia game I shouldn't have to be assembling images in my head!

That was probably my best, because I tended to know one or two of each set pretty easily. The quotes (if I remember correctly one quote was originally from someone else) and picture-->movie were a little more problematic. I totally got the "pet" shot right, though. Thanks, free movies shown in Grant Park!
