I see the "Yeah, no." but what happened after that? There should be something where the GM spawns in and does some crazy massive fatality or that char has to be in the stockade for awhile even if the account is killed so all can see.

I would like to see a world event where gold sellers are taken from their stockades and publicly executed. Is that too M oriented?
Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.

Roma Victor is known for publicly crucifying (literally) the avatars of cheaters. They probably do something similar for gold sellers. Could be fun to see something like that added to AoC.
Hopefully they are tracking gold transfers. If you're aggressive enough it'll make it impractical, between losing real money on the price of the game & hopefully losing a lvl50+ character, you won't be making any money selling 1g for $5-7.

Now that things have become more challenging I find myself using more and more stat food. Not that it's a TON of cash but that's all I've needed it for. Still working on my mount but at lvl 52 I only have 1g72s, long road ahead

Not at all. Soon enough money will start pouring in. Depending on what you're doing, around 60 you'll be making .5g a level and at 65 around 1g a level.
They're in the tavern in the Noble District. You can start around 40ish. Im not sure what the exact minimum is but you should get a quest in Field of the Dead to go there when you're ready.

I never got the quest in the FOD to start this one I just went in and started it.
Also I never got that naked arena fights in FOD, I was looking forward to doing that one.... with Bear

A good source of money is running through the arena quests. Probably close to 50s from that alone.
