GenCon 2008 Events
Friday, June 13th, 2008 - 1:56pm
though due in no small part to the presentation (I'm sure it's quite elegant, by ogre standards) I'm intimidated by the events list for GenCon this year. Thus, I appeal to the hivemind:
What's everyone going to? What's worth considering?

The only event that I want to sign up for is the True Dungeon if anyone else wants to go. As far as other games, I don't know what the vast majority of the games on the events list are. So, restricting myself to games I already know, I might sign up for the a con-only Zombies scenario. And if I knew I wouldn't get my ass totally kicked, I'd sign up for something HeroScape.
Other than that, I'll probably regulate floor hours to browsing and demoing.

I know absolutely nothing of the RPGs being shown so I figured I'd wander around and play whatever was available.
Though I'm definitely going to Video Games Live since it's in town that weekend.
Remember, only by treating everyone with dignity and respect can we maintain the element of surprise for that inevitable day when we wipe our enemies from the face of the Earth.
For clarification, "bnpederson" is pronounced "Brian."
McChuck, I'd be up for the True Dungeon. How much are they charging for it these days? My only time doing it, a friend of a friend got us in for a free trial run the night before GenCon opened. It was a blast!

Gen Con's website sucks rotten eggs. It is an abomination of useability. If you want to see the events easily and without all the shenanigans, try this:

If you were interested, I'll be running events all four days. Look for Zombie Rally, MetalKrushers and our newest, Nodewar. Look for events run by Adam to play with me. Hopefully I'll be available during some type of Slap and Tickle. We'll see.

Who all is going to the VGL concert, and what night? If I'm coming to GenCon, I'm coming alone, so I'm going to be looking for people to hang with a bunch.

I'm still undecided on the concert. I have to decide if I want to pay for both that and a GenCon pass.
That said, I'd be happy to wander the show floor with you (or any of the rest of you all) on Friday. Not sure if I'm going to come back down for Saturday or not (depends on my wife's schedule and if she's okay with me dumping the kids on her for two consecutive days/evenings).

I've decided to start here with the Cool sh*t I Saw at Gencon. Thing number One.
Horus. Pyro, McChuck, and I sat down with the creator (and one decidedly odd woman) to play. Pyro and I liked it so much we left with signed copies. Now, I'm all for gushing... But who else saw something cool at GenCon? Huh?
