Xplay... ACTUALLY Funny?

I haven't watched Xplay in months, but turned it on tonight and saw something that actually made me laugh-- to promote the airing of "The King Of Kong" on G4 they had a fake movie trailer for "K2," a KoK sequel that was an "homage" to Terminator 2.
Not sure how easy this might be to find online, but if you can catch it, DO SO. Hilarious.

Ever since we moved last summer and picked up a satellite dish Attack of the Show and XPlay have been getting some airplay at home. Laugh out loud funny at times.

AoTS can be really funny. It's not consistent, but it has gotten a lot sharper and smarter lately. Kevin and Olivia have great chemistry and timing.
I don't like Pereira. He's just too cocky. Olivia's good (read: hot) though.

Adam Sessler was promoted to managing editor. In conjunction with that, the show has undergone a format change, with Sessler's fingerprints all over the content.

I have to say, I liked it the way it was before. I couldn't care less about all this gaming news and stuff, since I get all that stuff online anyway. I watch Xplay for reviews and previews, not all the other crap they've piled into it. Because of this, I haven't watched a full episode of the show in months.

I liked X-Play best in its earlier days, and even better when it was Extended Play. Haven't seen an episode in years...

As an European I don't get to see the show itself, but sometimes I download their short video reviews for my iPod and find them pretty informative. Sure,they often try too hard to be funny, but most of the time those reviews give really good feeling about what game really is. (Still: GameTrailers > G4)
I love the Resident Evil 1 spoof with Adam and Morgan in the mansion and the RPG-spoof with adam fighting a toaster and then some ridiculously over-powered boss. I tried finding the videos but to no avail...
Lag used to be a lot worse back in the day. Hell, it took Jesus 3 days to respawn.
With the format change, they dumped the jokey voice over guy, added developer interviews and more industry news stuff and overall made the tone of the show a touch more serious and down to business. I haven't watched regularly, but I didn't think the shows I watched were too bad. I still think the reviews are pretty superficial, but it's hard to really go into detail if you're trying to review 3 or 4 games in a half hour format with other content.
And Olivia Munn = super hawt.

I pretty much stopped watching the day I saw them review one of the new pokemon's, after previously saying that "those weren't the kinds of review we do" in a much earlier (pre-format change) episode. But then I suppose I was probably looking for a reason to drop the channel all together ever since they switched over from techtv anyway, so no big loss.
The measure of a man is how truly his actions reflect his own truth - not how well his actions fall into line with what makes others comfortable.

I have commented about my usual disdain for xplay in the past... although I respect Sessler.
As for the video linked to above... very amusing. I love the guy interrupting the Billy Mitchell-bot from killing Steve with the "uh, in case you're interested, there's a kill screen coming up in a few minutes."

I saw Adam and Morgan at the GDC a few months ago. He's really short, and was wearing a pink scarf at the time. I never really liked the guy, I thought his opinions were more of the "bad cop" variety of their "good cop/ bad cop" shtick. Regardless, I don't care for G4, and I do agree with dhelor-- the whole channel wreaks of HCwDB...
This line of thought is rather disjointed-- Sessler's height + his pretty pink scarf have little to do with my opinion of him. ONly that since that day, I haven't given that stupid channel much thought until just now
