Copper Ore: 6 (of many)
Silver Ore: 223 (of 0 until tier 2)
Details:
We have gotten through all the structures that will give us a city recall, merchants and trader, as well as all the class bonuses. We are finished with the trade skill structures! All we'll have left is to continue to build the walls & towers around the inner keep and outer perimeter. A completed Tier 1 city is not that far off!
The bad news is that it seems as though none of the actual benefits of having said structures in place are implemented yet.
Worse yet, there's little in the way of information coming from FunCom on when this is going to change. No whisper nor timetable. Ah welll, at least it looks very cool and will be in place when it's ready!
Tier 1 Battlements(under construction)
Completes Tier 1 City and unlocks Tier 2
Plan: Two Parchment(25 silver each) + Drawing Ink (50 silver)
2 or 1 or 1 Joist - 10 Ash Cuttings per
2 or 2 or 2 Brick - 10 Sandstone per

Aw, you guys are in pontain too?

YOU guys were supposed to do the swamp thing, remember? Everyone was all about the purple lotus and then, poof, Pontain.
I'd like to know HOW to farm cash. I am almost 32 and I have less than 10 silver still (granted I have a full set of decent Heavy Armor, but I never spent more than 1s on any item, and most were in the <50 coppers range). I am genuinely worried that in 32 levels all I have accumulated is <10s, I will never have a horse at 40.
This is only compounded by the fact the guild itself, pooling from its members, can only raise 92s. Is there an automatic tax, like in Eve, where the guild gets like 1 or 2% of loot? If there is, turn it on. No individual will miss that little amount and the guild will really benifit.
PS - the next time I login I'll drop half into the guild bank. I don't really need it right now anyway...

Money starts coming in better when you reach 40 and start questing in the Fields of the Dead. You can get 20-50s in a day depending on how much you kill and quests you get completed.

Well, our guild hasn't really pooled together it's money yet, but that's not a concern at this point. I realize that people are saving for their riding skill (and mounts), so I am not expecting a lot of silver (much less gold) to come my way for now. As people get through their personal needs and more folk reach 40+, I am sure there will be a greater influx of monitary donations.
As far as how rich characters are now, upon reaching 40th level, I had 42 silver. So, yeah, it's not a lot but I hear things start to pick up from here. Right now, having no money for riding or a new mount isn't such a big deal because mounts aren't really well implemented yet. Once people are zooming around on them, I'll probably start thinking about saving for that, too.
Regardless though, I appreciate the effort people have made so far and am confident we'll see this done in due time.

I'll hazard a shot at this one. 24 hours?
I'd be curious as to what kind of cash one could gain, per hour, just grinding mobs in the Fields.
I think a key component will be whether or not there is a locale where mobs are readily available for killing near a village with a merchant. One of the biggest hassles is the distance some of the better mob clusters are from shopkeepers. Valleja and I were enjoying Old Tarantia's Noble District as they had humanoid foes with interesting item drops, but despite being "in town", it was still a pretty long walk to the nearest merchant to unload items. If there was a closer outlet, it would definitely improve cash grinding speed.

Field of the Dead has a merchant right in the middle of the zone, so its not that hard to get back to in order to clear out your inventory. And the mobs generally drop about 6-10 copper per kill. It reallys adds up after a while.

Hey Suhn, thanks for organizing this. Since we are all dirt poor, how about posting a "suggested" donation percentage. Even though we are all saving for our mounts, if everyone donated say 5-10% of their current coin, we should be able to get the keep up in no time. Also, if there was some way to recognize donors, that might get them rolling in faster.

Mynari is nearing enough money for the horse/riding skill. Is money the only object holding the building back at this point?
If so, I'll donate some, I was just saving for my little conan pony (tm pending) since I'd like to get around faster than I currently am (700pt stamina pool as a PoM means not very much sprinting).
If money is not an immediate issue, I can probably get my mount/skill and start heavily contributing to funds afterwards.

The boss mobs also drop 40-60c as well.

Money's the only issue right now. It seems the resources have all been gathered. It looks like we need about 1.5 gold, give or take.

I will contribute some tonight, do we send it to Suhn, or drop it in the guild bank? I wonder if we can scrape enough together to get it up tonight?

Coin is the only issue at this point. Even past the Keep establishment, it looks like gathered resources are going to be easier to accumulate than the coin required to buy the purchased items (plans, ink, etc).
We had some people step up with significant donations of materials last night but the coin side really is a pinch. I put in nearly half of what we have atm (which was all my silver) and Dolzer put in a big chunk, too. Beyond that, there were some small silver donations that were greatly appreciated, too.
The reason I hesitate to announce key contributors is twofold. One, I would require me to track and make note of each donation. Two, it would require me to be there for every contribution. As it is now, I can be offline and people can put resources and money in the guild bank at their leisure. Beyond that, I have great trust that people will do what they are comfortable with and will donate as they can.
I don't think it's unreasonable to say, though, that those who do contribute will be given greater voice when I poll for suggestions on upgrades to come. Soon enough (I hope), some of the buildings constructed will give tangible benefits to players and membership. Class bonuses, crafting bonuses, etc. Hopefully, things like an Alchemist's Workshop will give additional recipes and advancements so if the guild alchemists want to pool together resources to make that happen, I think that would be great. Same with soldiers wanting to get together and come up with the materials to have a Barracks built early. Etc.
I would encourage players to tithe 5-10% of their earnings toward the Guild City, but I will not require it. At worst, if no one else every put a tin piece towards it, I'd find a way to eventually get us there on my own. Based on the early contributions in just our first night of having a Guild City in existance, I have every confidence that the support by our Goodjer community will be enough.
How's that for a long winded reply!

Well, if what was said in the other thread is true and I can ride my rhino wihtout riding skill, then you're welcome to my 70s that I currently own.

Dont remember where i posted it, but the complete gold cost for a Tier 1 city is like 170g. 150g of that is just on architect plans.
Plus i think Tkyl was telling me that to reach T2 Architect it will cost around 36g.

I'll drop whatever silver I have in, its not like there is much else to do with it anyway!

Keep in mind the Rhino is no faster than running on foot.
I just hit the Fields of Dead late last night, so hopefully you'll be seeing a big chunk of money from me in a day or two.

Sounds good Suhn. Wow I hate that you dumped all your silver into it. You are already contributing a lot by organizing it, but thanks! Does the guild bank automatically track deposits? I'm thinking it probably doesn't, but may in the future.

There doesn't appear to be any resource/fund tracking in AoC's Guild Bank, a la WoW. And yes, it would be nice if it is eventually added.
Again, thanks for all the continual contributions. And don't sweat the fact that I dumped my silver into this. I walked at the same speed as someone else's mount yesterday, so I am not losing any time on foot yet and I've really not much else I want to spend coin on. At least putting silver/gold to the Guild City has some visible, tangible effect!

Has anyone raced a horse on foot yet? I chased one around town and it seemed to not be any faster, but I would like to try a true race and see. It would be very strange if they are not be a good bit faster. I thought the whole point of getting a mount was to get around faster. If it is mostly cosmetic then I am in no hurry to get one.

I've read horses are bugged atm so they don't run faster. When they are fixed they WILL move significantly faster though.

This is a stupid question, but how do we donate the monies? Put it in the guild bank?

Again guys, the plan is to get the first few components of the city up and then put most of our guild resources into generating money for the guild (as in for the people of the guild) so we can all get mounts and a pool of resources we can pull from to craft if we choose to and continue to expand the city at a little slower pace.
If you want to donate for city expansion, drop in any amount you like. 10s per member would get us really far. If you’re close to getting your mount money go ahead and get it. If you’re nowhere near getting your mount, consider what you need your cash for, maybe drop more into the guild vault.
Same goes for resources. If you don’t have an immediate purpose for it, drop it in the guild bank. We’ll put it to good use and you’ll see the benefit shortly! I want our people decked out in gear they like, riding horses they like, having fun with the game. Its more important than having the biggest city possible as soon as possible. Its neither realistic, nor necessary.
We also need some amateur economists to check out the early market. There are some parts of the tradepost that are clearly broken, like resources not selling in stacks, just 1 at a time but there should be money to be had in items. Right now it looks like no item is selling for more than a few coppers but that should change soon. Hopefully level 40+ items will creep up towards a couple silver each, with blues being more. If that starts to happen we could reliably start selling items we find instead of vendoring them for a few C each.
Edit: To donate cash or resources, visit a Trader NPC which can be found in Conarch Village (Cimmeria), Old Tarantia (Aquilonia) and Kesia (Stygia), choose the Guild Vault tab and drop the stuff in.

Before the bug Rhinos and mammoths were never faster than run speed.
Horses will go back to being faster but the Rhino will allways be the same + it seems worse because you are higher off the ground.
Pharacon wrote:
The description of the Rhino is that it is faster than a Mammoth. I also ran side by side with a Mammoth that was faster than me, several days ago. Not faster than me sprinting, but faster than me normaly jogging.

Suhn, lets catch up tonight. I got a gold can throw your way, probably a little more.
Then I'll kick it into overdrive on questing/killing to get it back so I can have my pony of war.

Being only level 24 I don't have much coinage, but I'll certainly be donating to the guild. (Damn real life has been getting in the way.

I need to figure out how to get to the resource trainers. I thought someone mentioned an easy way to get to the resource zone(s), but I forget. Anyone want to enlighten me again?
Thanks poly and everyone else who have been organizing and helping the guild out!
Resource gathering guide including how to get to each zone and requirements for each quest
Shade, add that link and the link for City Building FAQ to the first post please?
Edit: My biggest gathering tip is to get the quests as soon after 20 as you can and just keep playing as you normally do. Use any resource nodes you see as you level up and by 30-40 you should be done with those quests. There's no rush, after the 2nd tier quests you can't get the 3rd until 50 anyways
