AoC Friend Key Request Thread
According to Funcom, the regular edition will come with one friend key and the Collector's Edition will come with five.
At some point in the not too distant future, friend keys will be available. If you have keys available please post here, and update your post once your key(s) are gone.
I may have a key or two available soon, but I'm waiting to hear back from some folks. I'll add a post here once I know how many.
The buddy keys that come with every edition of the game ( one with the normal version and five with the collectors edition ) will be provided through the accounting tool once the first wave of paying customers has settled on the servers. So soon you will be able to take your friend with you and show them the beautiful lands of Hyboria!
Edit: By request, here's a quick summary of the official GWJ servers (full thread here):
PvP - Deathwisper (Official Thread)
PvE - Wiccana (Official Thread)
RP-PvP - Cimmeria (Official Thread)

I'd love one. My main reservation on picking this up is whether or not my PC will run it.
Xbox Live: Stilgar Black
I have five available, four if booty still needs one. I will check it out tonight and send PM to those in need once I am able.

I'd like one if anyone has one to spare. I'm curious to try the game out.

I'd love to try AoC as well!
WOW: Bounce
I'd like to try this out as well if anyone has a spare key.

I'd also like to try it. Is there a downloadable client?
I would like to see if Crom and I could learn to get along.
Posting on the boards is easy. The trick is to kick someone's ass the first day, or become someone's bitch. Chiggie Von Richthofen on how to transition from lurker to poster.
Ditto that. I don't want to risk the cash on something that may not run well for me. If anyone can spare me a buddy key, I'd be most grateful.
If you have a system that was kick ass a couple years ago, you should be able to run it on medium at a decent resolution.
If you have a system that was kick ass four years ago, it will probably look worse than what you're seeing in WoW by quite a margin. WoW can get away with a bunch of stuff because of lower poly counts and what not, hidden behind the artistic style, but Conan's world is on a whole new level in detail, they aren't even in the same ballpark anymore.
So if you do have an older system, at least do yourself a favour and check it out runing on a buddy's 8800GTS rig, you'll definitely see what all the fuss is about

I'm not just concerned about how it looks, but how it feels. On paper, Pirates of the Burning Sea was freaking awesome. Playing it was something else entirely, and I'm glad I didn't burn money on it (pun intended). Age of Conan reads incredibly well, but I want to make sure it plays well for me before seriously considering dropping cash on it.
Where do I go to actually GET my friends keys to give to someone else ... I can't find them on the registration website when I log in.
The little slip that came with the software says to log into the website and get the friend key ... where?

The quote from the FunCom rep above basically said they are holding off on releasing the friend keys. They will add that function to the account management tool after the wave of paying customers settles into the servers.
I'm guessing a few days. For now all we can do is identify who needs a key, and who will have them available.

I should be able to offer a couple keys to help out.

Honestly, that makes the most sense. Launch day (week) is always a tough time with the servers getting blasted on the initial load, as well as the newbie regions being overcrowded. Letting the paying customers get a couple days (or a week or so) to spread out a bit and get past the initial crazy wave of launch stress on the servers is both good customer service for them, as well as a better way to ensure a more stable and less overcrowded experience for trial accounts.
Smart move.
Ok -- fair enough. Now I don't feel like an idiot for not being able to find it.
I've promised one of my friend pass keys to Stormspain.

I'd be interested in sampling AoC, if there are any keys left.
There should be a ton to pass around once FunCom lets us register a Guess Pass Key. At that point, there should be no trouble in spreading around the gore and dismemberment.
I don't think we'll have to wait overly long for them to give access to them. I believe I read some official release from FunCom that they are only waiting to make sure that the game is running as expect for the paying customers first before addressing this.

I too would be interested in such a key, if any are still spare (when Funcom releases them, that is). While the game sounds right up my alley, I fear my alley is a bit narrow to fit it in, spec wise, so this will give me a chance to see how well (or unwell) it runs before going out and buying a copy.
I am interested in a key. Many thanks to those who are offering!
Might be a good idea to put the GWJ server of choice in the OP for those of us who haven't been following all of the AoC threads...
XBL: NSMike | Steam | PSN: NSMike | Wii Friend Code: 7763 1519 2475 2278 | GWJ Google Calendar
That's an excellent idea. But for now:
PvE server: Wiccana
PvP server: Deathwhisper
RP server: Cimmeria
There was a lot of confusion with how FunCom launched the servers concerning the RP-PvP server, but I *think* it finally sorted out.
4E D&D Campaign: Valley of Shrouds
Steam Community: ShadeRaven
WAR: Dardynn, ShadeRaven (x2), Sunseeker
I agree. I went ahead an updated the OP, along with links to the other threads.

I'd love one as well. I had a horrible time trying to get the pvp beta to run at a playable frame rate, but with everyone talking about how much better the performance is in the release copy, I figure it's worth another look and see.

I've got my five I'll be passing out.
In all honesty, with the amount of people with the game, I'm pretty sure everyone should be able to snag a key around here.
Well, Cooking Mama didn't help me become a better cook, and Trauma Center certainly didn't help me become a better surgeon. I have the proof of both sitting in my freezer. -- imbiginjapan
We'll see if my pre-order CE comes today.
If not, I could use a key. (been playin closed beta still, would be nice if my efforts weren't going to waste)
Being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster.
I am also interested in a Key. I would normally swing by the store and just buy it, but not only am I on the fence (been a while since I saw a good MMO), I have two large assignments to get done today. If I have to wait until the 22nd, then that's fine. If the keys take longer than that, I'll likely just buy it Thursday night.

Hey, Black, how did you get your Guest Pass codes? My little (lame) card has nothing other than go to register.agoeofconan.com, but I didn't see any options therein to get a guest pass key.

They passed out those sheets of paper. When Funcom decides to open up the friend codes, you'll have to go to your subscription page and, from what I've gathered, you'll be able to handle that through the registration site.
I don't *have* the codes yet, but as soon as I do, I'll be tendering them out to whomever needs/wants one.

Ah, okay. Same here. I have a couple passes I can offer out, too, when they are finally available.

I definitely need a code. I'm excited about the hype, but still very hesitant. my main 3 sticking points -
1) Realistic Graphics - do they really look good? Screenshots frankly haven't impressed me very much - I prefer the cartoony style since MMO models can never look as good as their single-player counterparts.
2) Combat - is it really that interesting? What differentiates it from WoW? I was incredibly underwhelmed with LOTRO despite the hype as i found it essentially the same game - if I'm going to be playing another MMO it has to give me a reason to play IT instead of just going back to WoW.
3) Addiction. If it's really, really good, i'm screwed.

1) Yes, but if you want real life, look outside a window
2) Yes, it is fun
3) Potentially, depends on if you take to it or not.
Edit: Not everyone will like the game, but compared to the other mmos I have played it is much better.
