How to Apply to Legion of the Broken Oar:
1) Open the Players & PvP Window. (Top left of screen, 1st button)
2) Choose 3rd tab: Guild.
3) Raise Member Count high enough to pull in Legion.
4) Possibly raise Level range, just to be safe.
5) Click on "Legion of The Broken Oar"
6) Hit "Apply for Membership" in the lower right hand corner of the box.
If the above doesn't work, just send a /tell to one of the following: Favour, Certis, Dolzer, Lucifist, Torgana, Lafrete, Mynari

Okay.. Here's my wife's and my information for this thread:
Valleja - Demonologist
Suhn - Guardian
We are questaholics and explorers, so that's what we'll be doing while on most likely.
I wish I knew what I was doing with my Guardian Feats, but I am still exploring the class and getting used to it. I did notice how strong a defender he is, though, when I got swamped by five level 17 Picts (at level 15) on the White Sands and held up through it. The Demonologist, though, is much squishier (but she sure brings a lot of damage).
I have some taunts (3 in fact) already, but when she drops area spells, I notice it's difficult to keep all the mobs on me... or maybe I am still adjusting to the class and not playing optimally.
I suppose, eventually, we will/should have some threads like we had for WoW tanks (and healers, DPS, etc.) to discuss all the theorycrafting, equipment, skill use, and specs... but at this point, I am playing my way through the learning curve.

I'm playing a ranger named Nightheart, level 10 currently.
My brother is interested in joining the Oarsmen too, he's a conqueror named Hudson around level 9.
I'll be online alot but I'm in no hurry to level up, I have too much fun just farting around the Tortage area, ambushing the weak and unwary. If anybody needs a hand with whatever send me a shout.
Also I'll be getting a new headset mic soon so I can participate in vent.

ok Im up and ready to send out guild invites. Send a tell to Dolzer as you log in. Oh or you can send a guild application and any member will be able to accept it and get you in. Please add your GWJ forum name to the application text so we know who you are
Also we'll need to figure out a different guild leader. Ill be doing heavy overtime at work for the next 10 weeks which will put me out of commission during prime time most weeknights
It appears we have a guild bank. I'm sticking anything I absolutely cannot use in there (Whats a guardian need with mana potions?), anyone who wants it, please take it. I don't want to see the guild bank pile up with a ton of un-used stuff!

I pressed the "Apply to this guild" button once I found the Legion of the Broken Oar but nothing happened after that. Do we need to be 20 to join a guild?
Either way, my conqueror named Jozak is lvl 12 right now so shouldn't be too long till 20.

I just created my Guardian, Jhava. I have to head out of town for the afternoon but hopefully tonight or tomorrow I'll be on and I'll send a tell to Dolzer or apply to the guild.
My character name is Lucifist, a HoX. Made it to level 14 last night.

ALSO:
If the person is in the vicinity or group and close by, you can right click on their name/portrait and "Invite to Guild" once you are in.

I tried to create a character called Gaybear but the name was taken
I rolled a conqueror (Gaheris) this afternoon and got it to level 10. I may roll another later today and see how I like one of the rogue classes as it seems we have alot of active Conqs. Just for peoples information, It took me less than 2 hours to get from 0 to level 10.
Gaiursa? Almost seems like a normal fantasy name..

I started an alt last night, a necromancer (Maledictus). After playing a ranger for a while, the necro seems awfully squishy. I'm hoping to get to 20 by grouping up with you guys, he's not much of a soloer.

I have a lvl 6 ranger and I really like it for PvE. I can give a lot of dps and still have some armour and most importantly some ranged attack as well as come close in, blood splattering mellee combat. I still dont know how it will be at higher levels or is a mage would be the better way to go. What does the guild need? more casters or more dps?
I will join the guild as soon as I can, I cant seem to find it though

I had that problem last night for awhile, not being able to find the guild. I think it doesn't show up unless someone who can invite is logged in.
I was able to make it to one of the resource gathering / city building sites: Lachsomethingorother Plains. It’s a weird zone, pretty much bare of anything except for 3 foundations for cities, a village in the middle with all the gathering/crafting trainers, and lots of space for the resource spawns. You get randomly attacked out of the blue but otherwise there are no hostile mobs, just ‘prey’, which is hard to catch with no ranged weapons To get there you have to enter a zone meant for 40-50 level chars but they made it so it’s a very short jog with no nasties blocking the path.
Resource collection itself seems really dull. You’ll find a node you can gather from, it has a health bar that represents how many whacks you’ll get out of it. There seem to be rare mob spawns tied to gathering, like a ‘jealous prospector’ will pop out and attack you, so you won’t totally fall asleep, and you’ll get some xp from kills as well as the quest turn-ins.
It’ll be good to make the trip at least to get yourself the intro gathering skills, as the nodes will start popping up in zones as you level up so it may be possible to level those skills and get some resources you’d otherwise have to pass by.
Switching subjects:
Right now, Certis and I have the lead roles in the guild, mostly for administrative purposes. I think we need to add another person, someone who’s highly active both playing and interacting with folks since I’ll have a hard time logging in at normal hours on weeknights for a while. If anyone has someone to nominate, plug em here and if we can reach a consensus by tonight, I’ll get him or her set up when I get home.

This brings up another question, are we looking for new recruits? Whats the protocol if someone asks us directly to join the guild? What about someone asking in general about guilds? I don't mind talking up the LoBO, but from my experience its not wise to grow too quickly.

I’d say we keep it to site members and friends/family of site members. So not exactly open recruiting. If a random person thinks they want to join, we should direct them to this site and have them make a profile. Basically the same way GWJ Alliance on WoW is run. It works well.
