Battlefield Heroes Beta Signup
Saturday, May 17th, 2008 - 8:58pm
To those that might not be aware, there are now signups for entry into the beta for Battlefield Heroes:

Its a pretty straightforward form, however you might need to have an account for EA's download manager, as it ask you for the email you use for it. Hope that's not a deal breaker ![]()
Any takers?

I signed up. I've been really curious about this, so I'm eager to check it out.

Everything I've read about this game seems interesting--I'll give it a shot.
Actually:
So you don't have to have an account now, but apparently if you are invited to the beta, you will have to get one.

Meh, I just signed up this afternoon.
The only experience I have is the DnD online game

I've been interested in this title since they announced it, but I watched some of the new gameplay footage they have out (http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/18854), and I'm less than enthused. I realize its a free, casual game, so I'm probably unfairly comparing it to true first person shooters (and especially to TF2), but it just didn't look all that exciting. The shooting and driving all seem kind of mushy from my perspective. Probably do need to try it out first hand, but I'm too lazy to justify to them why I would be a good beta tester (I wouldn't be a very good one, I never give feedback in the beta tests I have been in).

Signing up as I type this.

Or didn't offer to "do anything- that's right- anything" for the beta test managers, maybe.
If enough of the old BF2 2142 player sign up I may give it a whirl.

Edit: DOh I'm an idiot... Oki, signed up now
Btw, did you miss the part of the NDA where you agree not to share that link?
Strong like bull, smart like tractor.
I signed up and made good use of why I want and experience crap but we will see if they let me in. I am thinking this is going to a MEH game, but then so Far Fallen Legions is real fun so maybe this will be too.

Applied. I'm not horrifically interested in this game but I'm pretty sure my computer will be able to run it, it has character customization, and it's free. That's good enough for me to give it a shot.

I'm not sure about this game so I am going to give it a shot. I really don't like this micro transaction rout that PC gaming is going in.

From what I understand the microtransactions in this game are limited to time-saving mechanisms. XP-boosters and the like. Actual items and equipment can be bought with in-game currency you gain simply by playing.
Yeah, we'll see how long that lasts.

Also signed up, I am interested in seeing what they want to do with it.
I don't watch, I interact!
Signed up. I have a gaming desktop but am kind of hoping this will run on my old laptop. It looks like it could be the perfect fit for a mindless casual game that I could play while others have control of the TV remote.

Wish I could talk about it, but the beta agreement basically says testers can say nothing outside of "I'm in the beta" (like most closed betas).
Sahara Chill (my wife) got her invite too, which is great.

So I signed up a while back but heard nothing until I get this today:
Hi there. You’re receiving this email because you requested Beta access to Battlefield Heroes and were one of the lucky ones. I wanted to let you know that we just updated Battlefield Heroes to version 0.06.
Great, says I. Problem is that I never got a beta key. So this is all worthless to me. The entire situation takes me back to all the times we've cursed Dice, EA and their truly crappy technical support on the BF series.
Version numbers don't really mean much for a perpetually-updated thing like this sort of web-based game.

I'm surprised you were able to remember as far back as last night.
