If you're a fan of them, or related-ish indy bands in similar vein (Postal Service, Radiohead, the Shins, etc.) then this is a must buy. A bit poppier in places, a bit less laconic, a bit more driving, but in my opinion easily their best album. Came out Tuesday.

That is all.

Thanks for the heads-up, rabbit. I'll have to check into it. I'm a half-assed fan at best but I've always felt like I ought to like them since they are more or less from Bellingham, WA where I lived for quite a few years. I don't know if Jason McGerr is still playing drums for them, but my mother-in-law had him in one of her junior high music classes back in the day.

A year or two before they broke big I caught them playing at the 3B in Bellingham and I enjoyed the show. Even then they sounded quite polished and they genuinely seemed like really nice guys.

I vote for the Flobots single "Handlebars", that is all.

Drat. This is an album that a co-worker would have bought and then put on his shared drive. Too bad he left a week or two ago.

I'll have to check out their website to preview this first.

Don't want to derail the thread but JimmDogg speaks the truth. The whole Flobots album is pretty good.

That band's name makes no sense to me. Therefore, I shall shun them.

I'll be picking this up for sure. I saw em twice in the past few years, once at an outdoor festival for free.

Based on the findings of the report, my conclusion was that this idea was not a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious.

Ben Gibbard (DCFC vocal) voice timbre on this album sounds strangely similiar to rabbit's

INT is my dump stat.

The Postal Service's 'Give Up' was probably one of my favorite albums in the past 5 or 6 years.
I didn't like DCFC nearly as much, but I think will still pick up the album and give it a whirl.
I have their last album ('Plans' I think) and it was pretty good.

Well, for me this album is a gentle mix between their previous works and more 'Plains'-alike style. First few tracks are bananas, but later on it gets a little boring.

I like them, but I'm more of a Transantlantacism guy. I hear this album is going in a different direction.

Is this any good or it's typical blah blah blah buy our album cause we're such indie band (contracted to Atlantic) blah blah blah?
